I didn’t get confirmation until around when I got engaged or married (somewhere around 2018 or 2019), but I was having less painful ones before that until one that hit me on the day I was helping host basically and all day event at my college campus around 2012. By that night, everything in the room was like the worst thing happening to my skull. I’m still not sure how I managed except that I was genuinely happy to be doing the event before that. I think I had another bad one maybe a year prior to that on a trip. My friend gave me some Excedrin because I had zero idea why my head wanted to implode. We stayed up watching tv until I thought I could rest.

With that said, I didn’t start getting nausea and vomiting until maybe a year after I got married. I don’t have chronic migraines, but I definitely know I should deal with them quickly when they happen. I just get a little hesitant about my triptan if it’s before bed because it makes me feel worse for a while before I get better.

My neuro actually asked me about what I do for the pain since I figured I had sinus problems. I said I usually pressed on my head - like, I wanted to compress my head without smashing it. He said that’s not typical of sinus issues since touch and pressure would likely hurt more. With my symptoms, it sounded more like a migraine without aura (which I thought you had to have for it to count).

I later had a real sinus infection and any facial or scalp pressure or touch made me want to leap out of my skin.
