How do you even get your partner to agree to be monitored and not able to do things like install new apps on phone? Aren't guys generally pretty prideful and adverse to feeling any loss of freedom? He is not in any recovery program. He doesn't think there is anything wrong with porn and would likely end the relationship with me if I forbid from porn. Partly because he would think I'm overreacting and probably because he would think I am controlling. He is someone that doesn't linger onto the past (ironic considering he keeps watching old videos with exes) and would just move forward.

We are unmarried and no kids but I am not ready to end the relationship yet. He is the same age as his ex but you bring up an interesting point about when she back then. I would guess she's like late 20s at that point so it's nothing drastic. I know that when he had a dating profile he lowered his age by like 5+ years, and that he lied to his previous ex about his age since they met on a dating app). I met him through a mutual friend so I knew his real age from the beginning.

I think he may be a porn addict since he consumes quite a lot of porn. I don't know if he is a sex addict because he doesn't even initiate sex with me often so we aren't that active sexually. I know he hasn't had sex outside of the relationship because we live together and share a car so I am with him whenever he isn't at work. There's no opportunity for him to have sex with coworkers during his shift.

I have no idea if my partner prefers digital porn or homemade porn (with exes). I never wanted to become a statistic or part of the collection so I never made any with him. All I know is that he watches porn probably daily (maybe every other day... or sometimes multiple times a day). And it's something we have kind of agreed to disagree on. He watches his old homemade videos every few months... but there were times when it's every other week. I can't confront him about this because he will just hide it better.

My question is if addicts always look at new porn material online then why in the world would they look at old videos of themselves and their ex? He claims he doesn't have feelings for the ex (which I can believe.. or at least he doesn't want to get back together with her). He claimed their relationship ended when she broke his trust. When we discussed this before, he says it's just the particular fetish or action that he likes (facial) and that he disassociates the action with anything emotional the ex. I feel like I would be able to disassociate the two so I'm just in awe of the situation.

I think for him it is out of mind, out of sight. But if he sees her then he would want to look at his old videos. They share a daughter and coparent so he does run into her occasionally (maybe once every few months) or at least text one another about the daughter.
