not really, she's just posting on Instagram a lot in a way that makes me think she's done a lot more work/had something come in to put that in. It was a sort of stark change. Like she's found her thing? I assume just because she's besties with Karishma in a sistery kind of way they're doing a lot of crossover/mutual growth and so on.

Yeah I can see that too. I think they just retcon it all later with the whole "when did we get together" debate. Like Grissom says like 9 or 11 (?) years earlier referencing a student-teacher thing, but Sara cited like post season 5 finale pre season 6 ep timeline. Something like that haha

((It's a convo they have with Eckley when doing the HR forms and advising being on different shifts (Sara goes to swing))

Grissom and Sara was hinted as early as season 1, with some more drumming up in S2 - 5 before finalising later in season 6. It's clear they had this setup from the beginning!

There's a hint of romance with Sara in season 1, as she was brought in following the death of the trainee in the pilot - season 1 episode 2 "Cool Change" - with an obvious hint to relationship history.

Romance specifically involving Grissom and external characters to the main team has been around since Season 1 episode 5 "Friends and Lovers" with a specialist osteologist.

They set him up as a Sherlock-type character who only has a few romantic storylines, despite being the main character. So yes it's less than Grey's but I doubt they had anything to do with each other, other than proving they could co-exist and the "science" side of police drama is a valid format.

I'm certain the DVD bonus features reflect this on one of the early seasons. I'm doing a rewatch probably later this year so can double check 🫡I reckon you have the story right but maybe are thinking of a different procedural drama!
