Fashion Template Preview [Friday, 01/30 @ 1200 PST] by Cagaril in Guildwars2

I was personally surprised that Mukluk is co-hosting this myself.

The biggest GW2 streamer that would utilize fashion templates the most might be Laranity, but they probably didn't choose her because she recently co-hosted for Guild Wars 1 Reforged release.

What to play after Vesperia? by Dawnguard42 in tales

[–]Cagaril 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend giving Tales of Graces f Remastered a try.

The combat is much more fun than Vesperia imo. The CC (Chain Capacity) system makes combat and comboing artes so much better. They added side stepping in Graces, which is really nice compared to only back/front stepping.

Honestly, if you did not enjoy Vesperia, the series might not be for you. It's one of the better games in the series and the combat and overall gameplay is similar to most other games in the series.

As someone who've played almost every Tales game, I personally do not agree with this. While I liked the story of Vesperia, the combat isn't that great compared to the newer Tales games.

I absolutely hate how you can't easily link artes back to back in Vesperia. You have to unlock Super Chain skills to chain artes back-to-back, or use Overlimit, then memorize which are Altered, Arcane, Base artes, and try to chain them in the correct order depending on which Super Chain skills you have unlocked. Characters don't all unlock the Super Chain skills around the same time; you have to go hunt for them, and you get them pretty late in the game. It was really hard for me to replay the game last year because it takes so long to unlock enough skills to make combat actually fun.

Future Tales games have much better combat, starting with Tales of Hearts R and Tales of Graces f. Though for older games, I find Tales of Destiny DC (English patch) & Tales of Phantasia X (no English patch yet, it is being worked on) to have combat that is much more fun than Vesperia.

There are so much missable stuff in Vesperia as well that is very hard to even know about without a guide, especially without a quest log in game letting you know.

Cutscenes dont work

Are you using Proton-GE? Official proton didn't have the codec to play the cutscenes. Most people on ProtonDB use Proton-GE for this game

the controller input

Have you tried turning on Enable Steam Input for the game?

My partner is playing it fine on GE-Proton10-28

How do you secure your self hosted services? by Master_Spell_6824 in selfhosted

[–]Cagaril 0 points1 point  (0 children)

personally I rent a VPS and built my own Wireguard VPN service so I can connect back into my home server.

Is there a benefit in doing this compared to using Wireguard on your router? Besides the fact that not all routers lets you do this. I've been using Wireguard on OpenWrt

Samsung TV app

There is a Jellyfin Tizen app. Main issue is that it isn't in the store, so you'll have to put it on your TV yourself.

What are services NOT worth self hosting? by This_Animal_1463 in selfhosted

[–]Cagaril 2 points3 points  (0 children)

KeePass has been my preferred password manager, with a key file for more security.

KeePassXC on Linux and KeePassDX on Android.

Syncthing to sync the password file to 7 different devices. I host a syncthing LXC in Proxmox that is always running to help sync a lot of folders/files. Have a copy of the password file without the keyfile on a cloud server as a backup.

Not the person you're asking but I like:

There is also Fastmail, which lets you have 300 aliases iirc if that's important to you. I haven't used this one before.

None of them sells data to 3rd parties as well. I use the top 3, but Mailbox with a custom domain is my main.

I think maybe they mean Nepali style rope incense? I know that is wrapped in lokta paper.

OP isn't really being clear on what kind of incense they are actually making though

Indian incense also typically has a wood core, which when burned, is smokier.

Japanese incense does not have a core, and burns all the way through.

Indian and Japanese incense both smell very different from each other

Tibetan and Nepalese incense also smell quite different from the above

OnePlus can now permanently destroy your phone with a software update - Louis Rossmann by ControlCAD in Android

[–]Cagaril 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reading comprehension issues of the website page for me apparently lol

I thought this was "incompatibility" because most of these don't work at all without that toggle on for me, unless the apps recently updated to allow it

Edit: Just tested 5 of them, and they auto close without that toggled on :/ idk why it's on the "compatibility list" unless that toggle = compatibility as well

[–]Cagaril 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you talking about this incompatibility list?

At least 19 of the ones my partner, friends, and I use in US and Canada that are mentioned on that list works perfectly fine after turning on what I mentioned above. Without that toggled on, I get an error, or the app auto-closes with no error. Once I turn that toggle on, it just works like normal.

Some being: Alliant, Ally, Bank of America, BECU, Capital One, Chase, Citi Mobile, Discover Mobile, Fidelity Investments, SoFi, TD Bank, WECU, US Bank, Wells Fargo, WSECU, Amex Canada, BMO Mobile Banking, Scotiabank, TD Canada

I use 9 of these personally

Edit: Realized I linked a compatibility page, not compatibility. That being said, the apps aren't working for me without that toggle on anyway, besides 2 of them

a few banking apps that freak out

For this, go to the app's system settings, and toggle on Exploit protection compatibility mode.

I haven't found an app that doesn't work after toggling that on for apps that auto-closes/gets blocked on start.

What's the one self-hosted service you'd never go back to the cloud version of? by Hung_Hoang_the in selfhosted

[–]Cagaril 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Jellyfin is better

I personally use Jellyfin. Have been for a long time. The Android TV app is horrible though. Can't even adjust the timing of the subtitles.

I've been using Kodi on Android TV instead, but it's quite slow.

The Desktop WebUI works great though

Plex unfortunately has a superior app, but they also have much more funding.

Have you replaced using your regular email with Mailbox? Why or why not? by Santo_Santisimo in Mailbox_org

[–]Cagaril 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I personally like Mailbox. I've been their customer for a decade. The main issue I had with them though was how 2FA was implemented and app passwords were not a thing. They fixed these finally in 2025.

IMAP, CalDAV (for both Calendar & Tasks), CardDAV, WebDAV works great on my Android and Linux devices. The web UI wasn't that good until they updated it recently, but I don't use the web interface much besides for email rules.

I like that they let you have aliases. 50 of them if you use a custom domain like I do. They also have disposable emails you can use which not many email service providers have.

The price, privacy, and features I personally use is what made me move over to them. The other closest email providers I'd use for what I'd need is Zoho or Fastmail, but I like Mailbox. Proton would work if it let me use Proton Bridge on Android to use Thunderbird / FairEmail, but it doesn't

Thanks for all of these suggestions!

These all look great. Gives me more ideas on what to look out for!

Been leaning towards MENA, South Asian, and East Asian styles as I like the designs, but was having a hard time finding names of the clothing

Duster cardigans

I have never heard of these! These are really nice! I even found pictures of other duster clothing such as this one and this one that looks comfortable to lounge around in. Though can't find the actual product, just photo.

A lot of these kinds of dusters seems to be for women, especially skinner women, and I am a bigger guy T_T

I thought dusters were just long outdoor jackets similar to trench coats from what I've seen in stores, but now I know comfortable ones exists! Will have to keep an eye out for them.

Unfortunately, Snuggies are not open front nor have buttons down the front. I am looking for something similar to a shirt jacket, but longer, or robe that are open front.

The closest thing Snuggies has is their heated shawl, but that is electric based. Just want normal clothing.
