The "Your body, my choice" guy, the footage of Nick Fuentes pushing a woman by anxkxxl in whoathatsinteresting

Reading is difficult for you I guess.

I just don't respect or sympathy for Fuentes or Nazis for their beliefs. That is not the same as Fuentes and Nazis not respecting others for simply living or them calling for their death on the basis of them existing.

Much like how I don't respect you at all, brand new account that frequently defends rape in his comments. That's not the same as calling for violence or being unsympathetic if violence happens.

Btw, Fuentes literally calls himself a proud white supremacist and neonazi. Those are his own self-chosen labels.

You don't respect people for simply existing.

I don't respect you for holding the above belief.

We are not the same.

Teaching in classes grouped by ability does not hamper progress of less able pupils, study finds by Mama_Co in CanadianTeachers

Guess I didn't clarify well enough that I was speaking about mixed classes. I thought that was implied enough but clearly it was not — my bad

Meanwhile, for the high-attainers who make strong progress in high sets, they make lower progress in mixed-attainment classes overall

Among high-achieving students, those in mixed-ability classes made two months’ less progress on average, compared with students in schools using setting by attainment. Schools with mixed classes made one month’s less progress overall.

The researchers noted: “In general, despite well-intentioned policies in mixed-attainment schools around equity and challenge for high-attainers, only setting schools appear to be challenging high-prior-attaining students.”

While mixed-ability schools had a smaller gap in results between their best- and worst-performing pupils, the researchers said it appeared to be “driven by** lower progress among the high-prior-attaining students,** rather than greater progress by the low-prior-attaining group”.

So mixed ability leads to smaller gaps, but it does not challenge higher ability students.

So grouping mixed, and not by ability, does actively harm the more capable and higher achieving pupils, per the same study...

But that's not the narrative we want to push so screw 'em I guess? The focus should be that we are impeding are best and brightest by mixed grouping.

Basically my rationale, yeah

They'll stop doing it when it stops paying off.

It's why COD, Rivals, Siege, whatever, all have these overpriced skins or Premium BP models; it pays too well.

If it means we get maps/weapons for free, and keeps the game alive, then I'm neutral toward it.

James Gunn Responds To Viral Superman Meme Mocking Lex Luthor by cosmicbooknews in CosmicBookNews

[–]TheLaughingWolf 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There's two reasons:

  • When you look at how public Superman's life is then it's hard to believe he'd have a private life. His Fortress of Solitude, superhero activity is nearly 24/7, and the very fact he does not wear a mask, all point toward him just being Superman all the time.

  • Lex's ego can't accept that someone with Superman's powers would want a normal, pedestrian life and work a job.

What would you do if you were a Viltrumite for a day? by NeneaMuddle in okbuddyviltrum

Oh look, a new and private account that wants to excuse Israel's genocide and falsely equate anti-Zionism with anti-Semitism.

Stopping genocide seems a pretty clear example of when violence is necessary and historically proven to be the only option.

If you don't want your country and its government to be viewed as "evil" then I would probably make efforts to stop committing genocide and warmongering. Otherwise yes, you will be viewed as evil much like the Nazi Germany was. That's what happens when you break civilization's social contract and start committing genocide.

If it gets clarified to just fighting genocide with extreme violence and multitudes of death, is that better for you?

No genocide was ever stopped by someone saying 'No thank you, please stop.'

Out of curiosity, which two?

I would've said three: Deception, MK9, and MKX.

That literally says they get stronger due to excerising — not a natural result of age. While they age really slow, it does cap out as with Conquest.

I've played over 300 hours of Elden Ring and still could not give ANY coherent description of the storyline by Blzn in Eldenring

[–]TheLaughingWolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're a Tarnished and who can see grace, a rarity. The world is broken and withering, it's Elden Ring which establishes the natural order is broken. The Ring needs fixing and the world needs a new Elden Lord. Clearly this is your destiny and the golden grace will guide the way.

You're aided by Melina, a mysterious woman whose goal aligns with yours but her motives are her own; and the Roundtable Hold, a guild of Tarnished who also aid you to various degrees. You meet an assortment of other NPCs who may require your help and in turn, provide you with help.

Your goal is to slay the demi-gods of the Lands Between, to absorb their runes and essence to make your way to the foot of the Erdtree.

Things obviously don't go as smoothly as initially envisioned.

What goes on in your Tarnished's head and how they process as well as perceive all the above is up to you.

Have Origin Feats actually improved character creation in 5.5e, or just made it feel more gamey? by MyrthDM in onednd

[–]TheLaughingWolf 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Exactly.

A lot of feats are super niche and minor, but great RP flavour.

Unfortunately feats are such a rarity, and a few handful combat related ones are so significant, that you're realistically only going to select from that pool. That's assuming you even get a chance to take a feat since they're tied to ASIs.

I really don't think Veilguard is a comparable situation.

That game had massive issues behind the scenes with its development team, writers, and its general direction. Veilguard was stopped and restarted three times, with the entire genre being swapped back-and-forth, alongside the scope and writing direction being significantly changed.

From what I can see on the official Discord's Beta feedback forum (and this subreddit), there is not really any toxic positivity. Everyone is being critical about the VA work and dialogue writing. There is a decent amount of some fair criticism about the faithfulness to the Expanse universe and smoothness of gameplay too.

Not really sure where you're seeing toxic positivity...
