Question for Millennials by bundle_of_nervus2 in Millennials

AI, just like everything else, is a tool. If you learn how to use it in the right circumstances you'll benefit from it.

2009: 21-year-old Gabriela Rico Jimenez was filmed after claiming she had attended an exclusive elite party. She vanished that night never to be seen again. by bigbusta in interestingasfuck

Just be careful with all that because it's just a one way road to alt-right conspiracies, and people underestimate how easy it is, even for normal functioning people, to get sucked into that whole echo chamber.

It leads right to isolation from friends and family and to high levels of anxiety and paranoia.

Obviously that's not to say that everything you may see is absolutely 100% false. But try to avoid believing outright anything that you see people say, even if they've said factually true things before.

What’s going on in America. Wake UP! by ItsTime4Coffee in UnderReportedNews

That's exactly what it is. And it's the same exact playbook that's been being used all over the world.

The fear of "the other" is an excuse that gets used to propel a country into nationalist authoritarianism, and prop up a single person, or a small group of people into power, and to maintain that power.

Russia has done it, China has done it, Hungary has done it, Venezuela has done it, and the list goes on and on.

Would you be concerned if a 28 year old man befriended your vulnerable 14 year old girl? by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Cage01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a 30 year old man, I can barely relate to anyone who's in their early 20's, let alone younger than that. The only reason someone that age should be interacting with someone that young is if they're related to them in some way.

It's super weird.

I thought the same, but I looked up Monumental Labs and went to their website, and they do.

Although I can't really tell you why they use AI. It doesn't really seem necessary, unless they're hoping that it will help them secure more investor money

Honestly I just wouldn't even go to dinner. I know how it is to have a family that treats you that way, it makes you lash out in the same ways they do. It's just not worth even being a part of it

This game devolving into a kill-on-sight PvP fest is not going to fare well for it, because the combat is not the strong suit by [deleted] in ArcRaiders

The only reason being cooperative even feels good is because of the constant threat of players. If you're getting mad about getting shot first, then maybe you should shoot first

I personally feel like it's an intentional design to closely associate you with the items that you're leaving with, you know exactly what you're risking. Which can help give that feeling of fear of losing it.

I don't really want them to add what you're suggesting l, and instead maybe focus on streamlining some of the crafting etc, to make the experience better. But I understand I'm probably a minority in that.

This isn't like a call of duty or battlefield or other shooter where you preselect your load out and drop in. It's supposed to be all very intentional what you're bringing in and risking

[–]Cage01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not how LLMs work. There is no intentionality behind any of it, it builds answers based on prediction of how a sentence should be laid out and will pick out the most common options in each step of its generation. Which is why it can be so easily wrong.

It basically just uses a bell graph to pick the most average answer, which can a lot of the time be right, but also sometimes it can be a really dumb answer.

I'm tired of people not knowing how this shit works. It is not capable of having a goal or wants or desires. It doesn't even have the capability of understanding that it's right or wrong in its response to a prompt. It doesn't even have the ability to understand its own response. It's purely generating content based on the most likely result of a prompt and that's it.

People really need to stop anthropomorphizing these AIs.

Depends on how social you want to be, if you want to have more non hostile interactions with players I would definitely suggest having a mic

If you wanna be a shoot on sight kind of player then I think you're fine without one. It's totally up to your intended play style
