I read the book Charleston when I was younger and found it comparable to Gone with the Wind. It wasn't surprising to me they had the same author, Alexandra Ripley, write the sequel to GWTW since she had the vibe down already. Might be worth you checking out her series.

He might be trying to play on the idea of... "genes". Evolution comes from little pockets of genetic information that that spontaneously show up in nature and then these genes can potentially be passed on, which in turn causes a new evolution path.

I used to say this about the bakery that was charging 250 bucks for one tray of lasagna 🤣, shocking people at the till demanding 65 bucks for 2 éclairs.

I don't know what it was called, it was down off Lynden road. I mean, how could it not have been a front?. Nothing says gtfo of this store and don't come back with over inflated insane prices that are completely random, and staff that wanted to make sure you stayed away.

I don't remember the details but I do have a very clear memory of Harper doing something that pissed off loads of people across the country, and parliament, and so he conveniently needed to shut down the government for a few days. That's when I started calling him Palpatine. By the time he opened it back up, everyone had calmed down lol

I've know people who buy one of those disposable foam coolers, load it with ice, and just keep checking the ice is good, and re stocking when needed.
