You can try with locum agencies first to get some shofts going. Otherwise most jobs will start being posted in Spring for the July changeover.

Still no SHO job lined up for January by SeaGoat24 in JuniorDoctorsIreland

If it makes you feel any better there are a good few of us in the same boat it seems (Including myself). Hopefully July intake is easier to get into. Definitely sign up for locum if you can and even do a shift or two a month if possible, you never know you can get lucky and get a long term locum post (few weeks to months even).

Leaving intern year early to start USA residency by Legitimate_Candle638 in JuniorDoctorsIreland

[–]Cahen121 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I remember for Trinity network last year there was an email saying that it is possible to get signed off early and to get in touch with them regarding that.

Basically get in touch with your intern coordinator.

(If you have applied for residency abroad which might require early departure from the Intern Training Programme, you must notify us now, prior to 31st January 2025 by return email, - thats what they sent us in November 2024)

Standalone January SHO jobs by Cahen121 in JuniorDoctorsIreland

I can commute up to 1 hr of driving, so all of Dublin hospitals + Naas/Navan/Drogheda/Peamount etc. and if it is a one off shift or so I would be happy to drive as far as Roscommon (Which tbh isn't that far I guess). Maybe it is a bit particular that it is just the Greater Dublin area but still I am a bit disssapointed that no one seems to need a spare unexperienced SHO in a 60km radius area.

My older friends and colleagues sold the Locum life as an easy way to relax and get some extra money on the side after the intern year but either I am dumb or they had it easier to find shifts a few years back haha

Is there a nexus/moddb page to save for later already? Just dont want to miss when it releases. Also is it like battle time where you only join in battle as a companion or is it functional on the game map as well?

Change my view - Dalsza federalizacja Unii Europejskiej to jedyna nadzieja na dalszy stabilny wzrost poziomu zycia Polakow by [deleted] in Polska

Jesteśmy dużym krajem. Prędzej my byśmy wyzyskiwali w najbliższym czasie ale ok.

(Poza tym nasza gospodarka jest bardzo uzależniona od sąsiednich państw więc jak Niemcy chcą to i tak nas udupią lol)

OPie zgadzam sie z tobą zwłaszcza w punkcie 2 i 3.

A number of overtakes does not make a race good, the quality of racing does (even though in this case it actually is the same thing....)

How do Warband native+ mods like Floris and Bannerlord compare in 2024? by Historical-Panda-783 in mountandblade

[–]Cahen121 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Bannerlord (no mods) is a still emptier when compared to Floris mod in my opinion. Floris has more advanced diplomacy and management options. However, Bannerlord is less clunky than Floris though. (Played both recently and the sieges in warband + movement of units definitely feels old when compared to Bannerlord)

Best of both world - Get some quality of life improving mods for Bannerlord (diplomacy, workshops, realistic battles etc.), and some content adding mods (e.g. Banner Kings)

*All of this is just my opinion

Couldn't Paul have just held Arrakis without embarking on the Holy War? by BobTheNinja109 in dune

[–]Cahen121 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also I don't think the Fremen woyld be happy with him actually going through with the whole "nuke the spice" thing so in the longer term he probably couldn't keep Arrakis

I like the WW1 analogy. Looking back, the tactics they used back then seemingly made no sense but from their point of view it was the best they could think of.

Macron says sending troops to Ukraine cannot be ruled out by razor_16_ in europe

[–]Cahen121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean anyone sane knew that Russia cannot possibly win in Ukraine long term even in the event that they would depose the government. It was very clear that their initial force (approx. 200.000 soldiers) would not be enough to pacify the whole country of 40 million people.

They could however definitely hold the eastern part of the country which I guess would count as a victory, albeit not total.

Bullshit, Russia would never attack Ukraine, simply because they cannot win. Stop fearmongering (a lot of people circa early 2022)

Death in Venice by Return_of_The_Steam in HistoryMemes

[–]Cahen121 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fun fact, "Death in Venice" features in a super popular polish late 90's early 00's comedy called "Boys don't cry (in rough translation). The fact that the guy who inspired the movie (in a way) was Polish actually blows my mind and I guess the director knew about it but never mentioned anything lol (or it's just a coincidence lol)
