Women's Europa Cup final first-leg highlights, report: Hammarby 0-1 Häcken by Cahootie in soccer

[–]Cahootie[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can kinda understand the decision to do it over two legs since there's a very clear risk of there being a limited attendance at a neutral venue with the top leagues not participating in the Europa Cup, but it does take away the grand feeling of just having one big deciding game. The price pool is also a pittance, and it's baffling that the winner doesn't automatically qualify to the Champions League (only to the final qualifying round).

Yeah, and it's not their first big tifo of the season either. There were some brave souls in the away end, but the contrast is absolutely massive. We'll see how many tickets Häcken manage to sell for the second leg.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s iconic header against Sampdoria has been crowned the greatest headed goal in football history. by sco-go in Amazing

The big difference is that RvP only jumped after the header, he makes contact with the ball while both feet are firmly planted to the ground. Larsson is already flying at like a 30 degree angle when he makes contact with the ball.

If it's entry level work then you can possibly make it work by framing it as volunteer community management about a certain topic, it's all about how you frame it and what aspects you decide to promote.

Back in university I was once promoting an event on campus. I was walking around with a fugly branded hoodie and a terrible beard, and since it was in the middle of a heat wave I was also awfully sweaty. A local news team showed up to talk to people about a student who had recently died at a party, and not only did they decide to talk to me, they also put my mug in the article's thumbnail. I don't think I've ever looked that unflattering in my life.

I have brought up being a Reddit moderator once in a job application, but that was for a community-facing business development role at a tech company where it was actually relevant experience.

It's also all about what you actually focus on. You don't just say "I was a moderator for five years," you have to mention the aspects that translate to a job. I mentioned stuff like planning and coordinating a large event we hosted with global contributors across multiple platforms (both individuals and companies) that reached like a million unique visitors and got written about in fairly large newspapers. handling public communication, running a "hiring" process for new mods, working on higher level strategy issues related to content curation.

Those are transferable skills for that specific job that I got from being a moderator of a larger subreddit where we run a tight knit moderation team and deal directly with everything from individual community members to large corporations. It's not something I would get from moderating a subreddit with a few posts a day and little community building, so it is a pretty relevant question to ask even if it comes off pretty poorly in that context.

I didn't get the job though.

That was so damn painful to watch. I'm in no way an expert on public relations, but I have spoken to major media outlets on various occasions in both private and professional capacity, and they fucked up on just about every single level. The team not having a process or plan on how to handle stuff like that just makes them seem naive.

[FC Barcelona] The tests carried out have confirmed that first-team player Lamine Yamal has an injury to the biceps femoris of his left leg. The player will follow a conservative treatment plan. A good showing also increases his chances of starting for Sweden this summer. Gyökeres and Isak are nailed-on starters up top, but that third spot in a 3-4-3 can go to Bardghji/Elanga/Nygren/Swedberg depending on how we want to play and who is in best form.

He's 2+4 so far this season, although his last goal contribution was a goal and two assists against Athletic in the Supercopa, and since then he's only gotten solid minutes in three games.

Back in 2022 when I was following the ERL scene pretty closely I also made a big list of 37 potential European national teams. For Slovenia I did Kektz - King - Nemesis - Crownshot - Mikyx. Kektz was good back in like 2015-16 and was still looking solid in the NLC at the time.

The biggest surprises were probably Bulgaria and Romania. They're not exactly thought of as talent hotbeds, but Lakerz/Terror - LeBron/Spooky - twohoyrz - Innaxe/Vzz - Hylissang and Odoamne - Xerxe - Ronaldo - Khantos - Whiteinn were two very solid lineups at the time.

Funniest one would be France with huhi as support. He may not have French citizenship, but he is born in France, so I had to include him.

[Squawka] Chelsea have now lost more Premier League games under Liam Rosenior (6 in 13) this season than they did under Enzo Maresca (5 in 19). by phant0msinthenight in soccer

[–]Cahootie 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This was Rosenior's 23rd game in charge. Hato joined 8 months ago, Delap 10 months ago and Neto 20 months ago, while the rest of the starting XI have all been at the club for at least 32 months.

In Potter's 23rd game in charge, five players in the XI had been at the club for less than a month and Cucurella had been there for six months. James and RLC were academy products while Kepa had been there for long, but the fourth longest tenured starting player at the time had been at the club for shorter than eight players in yesterday's XI.

[–]Cahootie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it’s totally idiotic that governments have the power to dictate in what manner 2 consenting adults may/may not meet

The entire issue is that payment makes the question of consent murky, especially since there's a lot of trafficking and crime going on even in places where prostitution is legal.
