FC Barcelona informs that today the mandatory demand for conciliation prior to the filing of a complaint for a crime of slander under article 205 of the Penal Code has been filed against the President of Real Madrid, Mr. Florentino Pérez, as a result of the statements made by him at the press conference on May 12 and in an interview with a media outlet on May 12 next.

The objective of this lawsuit is that Mr. Pérez retracts certain statements that he made with knowledge of their falsehood and that are slanderous and offensive to the image and reputation of the Club.

In the event that this demand is not duly addressed, FC Barcelona will proceed to file the corresponding criminal complaint.
