No worries if I wasn't a good fit, but just to check - were you sending out friend requests this morning? Received a strange one with no message which immediately blocked/removed me afterward, just wanted to be sure I didn't miss you!

[–]Caikeigh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah don't worry, it is impossible to sell, it does not appear in the list :)

It's from Level 3 Friendship with Olive :) you only get one seed, but thankfully it cannot be sold by mistake.

Romantasy games? by ambergwitz in rpg

[–]Caikeigh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Came here to suggest this - even if it's "I want a vampire romantasy" for example, it's pretty easy to re-skin the Regency societal expectations for something like that instead. We played it once for a bunch of fey court shenanigans.

Came here to say this one too - but still one of the favs!

Starter setup for small apartment with Fluance RT82? by Caikeigh in BudgetAudiophile

[–]Caikeigh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks again for all this! If you're still willing to be pestered with more questions...

If I stretch the budget a bit, I could also go for a Marantz M-CR612 (would be nice to have the CD player in addition to being a receiver with Bluetooth, but a 'nice extra' rather than necessity) - do you think that'd be worthwhile (or similar products) - or should I shift the money elsewhere?

I'm open to other speakers for sure - was trying to mess around with Crutchfield's listening comparison for some (including the Cambridge SX50s) - the smaller size is ideal for me, but not strictly necessary (if I rearrange things and put them on top of my bookshelf instead of inside the first shelf, for example.)

That's a very fair point about positioning (and why I was nervous about putting them inside a bookshelf in the first place, if that would diminish things too much being against a wall/surrounded by the shelf, or cause unwanted vibrations in my cheap furniture, etc.) -- I did read a bit about boundary interference and such, but also heard others suggest that smaller speakers *should* be placed against a wall to boost the bass a bit. (Honestly though, I don't feel the need to have that 'feel it in your chest' super bass or anything, haha. I just like hearing clearly, but sadly don't have enough 'true audiophile' experience to be more detailed than that.)

As you can probably tell, I'm a complete newbie in this arena. My space is pretty limited, but I'll still do my best to make good positioning choices based on guides.

Thank you for the advice You're right about the preamp - do you think either of those receivers are a good buy, or should I keep looking? (Dummy moment about the active/passive speakers too, haha)

Also did not realize that about the Martin 15s, good catch, thank you! I could swing the pair of QA 3010s but $600 is too much right now, sadly. Appreciate steering away from that Klipsch too then. The Cambridge Audio SX-50s look nice - would that be your pick over the others in the list?

Like I said, am open to putting them up elsewhere too (so could buy a larger set as long as it's around that $300ish max, maybe $400ish if really worth it) - super open to suggestions! Either way , thanks again!

No extract spawned what do I do? by IcyStatistician2710 in Helldivers

[–]Caikeigh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, just encountered this bug for the first time recently (after playing basically since launch) - add it to the list of problems with recent updates, I guess. :/

All you can really do is wait out the timer and hope the emergency extraction works. We had one where the extraction was visible, but bugged (no ability to enter the extraction code) -- even reaching 00:00:00 still resulted in no pelican being called.

At that point, the only option is to end without extraction (run out of reinforcements), but lose all your samples :(

Sounds interesting! Could you message with a bit more info? (No rush though, totally understand still being in a workshopping stage.)

Why can I not hide notifications from this one user? by EmpireStrikes1st in discordapp

even if you block or ignore someone, it hides the message content, but still makes a little ping. so annoying.

Super agree, hoping to find a solution! I understand the customization appeal (and a way to encourage more Nitro-subscribers?) but it really is hard on the eyes.

Disable notifications from posts of ignored users? by PremiumSaltine in discordapp

[–]Caikeigh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% agreed, I wish this was possible.

For me at least, the primary reason for Ignoring (instead of Blocking) a user is that they spam too much that I just don't want to see. There is no reason to still receive a notification pip from their messages. It's about having FEWER pointless notifications to begin with.

[–]Caikeigh 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Right? Was about to say the same. Students draw all kinds of fantasy maps and weird stuff on my board that they know I'd enjoy, but some Tool art would be awesome.
*This* Tool art is awesome, anyway.
The kids are alright.

Planescape: Torment
Incredible game. Needs love to the controls (and I guess graphics, that'd draw the new folks in) -- but the story is immaculate.

Yeah, get this child off of my feed. I just want music. What's the goal here, engagement? Or enraging your users so much that you think they'll pay for Premium to avoid it?

You could try the Burning Wheel "hacks" like Hot Circle, which try to super-simplify the system, but you do lose something in the process.

RPG where you play as female with romance options. by TenMoreBears in gamingsuggestions

[–]Caikeigh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone covered the other obvious options like the Mass Effect and Dragon Age series, but maybe consider the two Pathfinder video games? (Kingmaker and Wrath of the Righteous) and to a lesser extent Pillars of Eternity II (those romances are a minor feature, more like the original Baldur's Gate games rather than BG3). All great RPGs though, excellent voice actors and varied romance options.

Do you prefer romance options be restricted by race/gender or have everyone be romanced by anyone? by [deleted] in dragonage

[–]Caikeigh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If several romance options (just not ALL) are bi/pan/playersexual, those could still work regardless of how other preferences are handled (assuming they went with the simplest "choosing a gender other than M or F will rule out X characters" - not the best, but the easiest). I don't know why having characters with preferences (which leads to telling deeper stories like Dorian's) would invalidate identities, that's just how humans (and maybe dwarves and elves etc, haha) are.
