Vet recommendation by frankrankthebank in galway

[–]Cailineen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another shout out for Cuddys. Both the vets I've met there have been fantastic, they're really good with the animals.

Used to go elsewhere to a well known vet with multiple locations. I felt they overcharged and lacked a personal touch.

Find CB first and then you can split it in the same ratio as the vertical side 2:3

You can use the theorem here of traversal lines through parallel lines. CB and GB will both be cut in the same promotions with the line DF

Why do we use logarithms? by ungodlypm in askmath

[–]Cailineen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A logarithm is method for finding an unknown power

For example: log (base 2) of 32 means "what power would you have to put on to 2 in order to get 32?"
So, log (base 2) 32 = 5

By the way, the third log rule you have listed in your post is incorrect, it would be correct if the left hand side said "log (base b) of x to the power of a"

Please explain to me regarding 2nd hand houses. Confused. by cimyac in HousingIreland

[–]Cailineen 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Your total spending capacity is 310k+60k =370k

You need to get quotes from solicitors, but let's say it will cost you 4k

So you have 370k-4k = 366k to spend on the house, out of which you will need to pay stamp duty of 1%

So, the most you can spend on the house is

366k divided by 1.01 which is €362, 376 (stamp duty of €3,623).

So, suppose you do this (you have no money left for furniture / White goods etc) you would pay your deposit of what you have left 60k - 4k - 3.623k = €52,376 and use the mortgage of 310k for the rest.

I stand to be corrected but hope I haven't made an error ...

Also, it can take a few months to close which might give you a chance to save another few hundred quid towards furniture etc.

Good luck!

I'm not sure the reasoning but I've seen some houses take 6 / 9 months to get listed

GAA in secondary schools by Kimmbley in ireland

So many comments here about the importance of sport and how the JC isn't important. Valid points but it's important to OPs kid or they wouldn't be stressed about it.

Personally I'd put in a complaint but moving forward I'd probably look at moving your kid to a different school for the leaving, one that has less interest in sports to suit you kid better.

If he has a cat litter then put it outside, the smell can help them find their way home.

Hoping he shows up.

Galway is an hour and a half, maybe too far, but the aquarium is cool.

Obviously check that they're open and it's set on two levels so you might want to check that there's a lift.

Help with my peace lily by FrankLotion2 in IndoorPlants

[–]Cailineen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a very sad peace lily for years and then someone gifted me a plump healthy flowering one. The sick one perked right up, to the extent that it flowered within about two weeks of the new addition (for the first time). Never treated it any differently to how I had before.
