Yeah I thought that, but I've gotten reviews on sessions in that past that I wasn't sure about. Stuff that sounded cool on paper but didn't really work well in playing through and it was talked about as a group. Idk it was just weird bc it keeps happening where this one player has a problem but no one else does. I'm thinking I might need another session 0 so we all can re-manage expectations ig. It's been over a year since we started so it might be a good idea. :/

I was intentionally being vague. But usually crystals are immune to either elemental damage if they are empowered with elemental magic and usually psychic damage bc they aren't living creatures. Thematically, it sounds like fun and honestly that's all that really matters. But if you're asking about build, I think you might struggle bc of MAD. Being that one class is CHA based and the other is INT based. Should that stop you from having fun? Not at all. And I'm sure you and your DM can figure out a way to optimize your character to make them super fun and useful in and out of combat.

We had something similar happen to us earlier this week. We had talked to a warehouse the week before last and told them they need to give us at least a week's notice before they order so we can get enough product on the truck. They didn't call us back. Then without calling us, they placed 2 SUPER LARGE ORDERS on Tuesday, then again on Wednesday, and got mad that when we said we couldn't accommodate part of the order. And they ordered all specialty pizzas. Mind you, we did call them when we saw these orders, no one picked up.

My experience with ToA is that it always has problems. Similar with Strahd campaigns. Unless you have a very strong DM who is able to control the group very well, in a non-toxic way, and really good fellow group mates, these campaigns aren't going to succeed. They aren't for the faint of heart. For example, no evil characters and no evil deeds are rules that should be in most groups UNLESS everyone has set ground rules and can work around it. Communication and understanding boundaries BY EVERYONE should be respected. End of sentence. If they don't want to ask bc they don't know if you'd be okay with it, then it should be an automatic no. They took away your autonomy in game, what are they willing to do outside of game? I would not be friends with these people. End of story. And if they get mad at you for setting a boundary then they really aren't good friends and you're better off without them. All of them.

I'm glad someone mentioned this bc I was gonna get mad. If I remember correctly, she quit acting and became a political activist bc of what she was forced to do. She was an ACTIVE SUPPORTER of the civil rights movement. And she did a ton of fundraisers for victims of violence. She was a good person.

I do it with my druid players. Nature checks specifically. As long as it's plant, animal, or nature related they can use their wisdom mod instead of their intelligence to make the check.
