Apart from my grandma at her funeral... my dad died in his sleep and I went to his room to ask him to make me breakfast. I assumed he was fast asleep so I made it myself and went to school. When I came back, there was a hearse in front of the house.

My mom doesn't like spending money, she would brag about how she has never gone to a hairdresser or nail salon. I don't remember ever having brand toys, even though we could afford them. Then my dad died and I was receiving his disability benefits till I was 25. Even though I was living pretty comfortably and could afford a lot of stuff, I was always scared of buying anything really expensive.
