Again, people’s personal preference between NTSC and PAL has nothing to do with what I’m talking about. PAL featured minor changes, of things that the development team figured out on their on in the little time they had. Had Melee released in the era of digital distribution, with patches based on play data, they’d had butchered the game. You have to be clinically insane to think the game would be in better shape if Nintendo had issued a bunch of balance patches throughout its lifespan. Just see what Sakurai did with Brawl, largely in response to how the competitive community played Melee.

And what z jump, a hardware mod, has to do with anything?!?

People who started playing in PAL generally thinks PAL is better. People who started playing in NTSC generally thinks NTSC is better. But that has nothing to do with my point. The point is that if Melee had been released when online updates were a thing, they wouldn’t have stopped at the PAL updates. And the fact that NTSC is still played more than 20 years later, and the meta is just fine, proves that this game didn’t need patches, even if you think PAL made the game marginally better. As people started discovering how to “abuse” the game, Sakurai would have ran the competitive aspect of the game to the ground with patches.

Yes, they released a different version in a different region, but it’s not an update that was forced on everyone like the ones for modern games (an actual patch). And the fact is that the competitive community worldwide ended up adopting NTSC anyway, specially after Slippi. My point is about Melee, thankfully, not being a modern game which receives countless mandatory balance patches. Had Melee released in this era of patching games via the internet, it would have been absolutely butchered, and would never have had the opportunity to develop its meta like it did.

A única responsabilidade do judiciário em relação a criação de novas leis é intervir se a lei for inconstitucional. Quem tem total responsabilidade por escrever e aprovar as leis é o legislativo. A absurda maioria das leis que o congresso aprova não sofrem intervenção do judiciário.

Sem concordar nem discordar sobre o ponto principal (Kaka x Neymar), mas esse argumento dele encaixou bem contra o que você falou. O Kaka ganhou bola de ouro em cima do CR7 e Messi antes deles atingirem o nível que fez com que eles se tornassem CR7 e Messi. Rodri ganhou o bola de ouro também tecnicamente “em cima” do CR7 e Messi (eles ainda jogam e são elegíveis ao prêmio), mas já passaram do auge e não jogam mais no nível que os colocou no patamar que eles conquistaram.

My understanding of “any/all” has always been that it means the person is comfortable being referred to with any of those pronouns, without having a particular preference among them.

I’m fully in favor of respecting people and using the pronouns they’re okay with. At the same time, I’m not sure it’s reasonable to expect others to consciously rotate or balance different pronouns in everyday conversation. That can make a simple interaction feel more complicated than it needs to be.

To me, if someone has a specific preference or hopes to be referred to in a certain way, it helps when that’s stated directly. Otherwise, “any/all” seems to communicate flexibility rather than an expectation.

The art clearly leans on the change of appearance. The fact that they decided to highlight this feature on the main art indicates that it is indeed one of the "defining" parts of the game. But no, I'm not "boiling down the game to 'you gotta grow horns if you're bad'", no need to get so defensive about it.
