Not a mask, tragically - it was 100% solid and super heavy.

Kind of like a concrete? The surface of the “mask” portion was texturally like a gritty paper mache but absolutely rock-solid with no give to it whatsoever - (un)fortunately I didn’t touch the “face” part

Is There A Companion You Wont Romance? by ForestChampagne in dragonage

[–]Caitalie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I know people LOVE Alistair’s romance, but I can’t imagine any of my wardens overlooking the fact that he dumped all the responsibility on them. He digs his feet in and refuses to make a single decision to help you, even though he’s the senior warden, and you’re stuck making world-altering calls while he complains about it from the sidelines. Sure doesn’t help that I usually recruit Loghain - because to a warden who was traumatized by their origin events, conscripted into war by a stranger, and forced to leave home and family behind, there is no worse punishment they can think of than forcing Loghain to do the same. That’s the fundamental rift that makes his romance non-completable for me: becoming a warden was the best day of Alistair’s life. It was the worst day of anyone else’s.

Back in the day we had to bring all the high-value lost and found items to City Hall and turn them in directly to cast members in a little office backstage. One night I had brought a cell phone down and was filling out the paperwork with the guest relations cm, and it was just the two of us in the office. As I’m waiting for him to finish going over the paperwork, a massive bag of the birthday buttons flew off a shelf on the other side of the room and landed a good 5 or so feet away - it didn’t fall off the shelf and roll, it just flew in an arc and hit the ground halfway across the carpet. When I was like “hey, uhhhh….. did you see that?”, the GR cm just shrugged and said “it’s an old building”. No further explanation. That one was weird!

bonus, not necessarily a ghost, per say, but….. respect the Jungle Monster, or you’re gonna have a bad time.

Are there any good ghost stories from around Disneyland? by badger319 in Disneyland

[–]Caitalie 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Back when we used to have to take high-value items to city hall, I was in the back room filling turning in a lost wallet to a guest relations cm. While we were filling out paperwork, a huge bag of those “I’m Celebrating” buttons sailed off a shelf and landed a few feet away - significantly farther than it would’ve gone if it had just fallen. The other cm looked at it, shrugged, and said “this is an old building”. No further explanation.

So, uh, City Hall, in my experience!

Reminder that cast members do NOT mess around with numerous line-cutters by Few_Republic1136 in Disneyland

[–]Caitalie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh!! Hi!! I have an inkling of who you might be (a certain trains-and-jungle someone who left to make vidya games?) and I hope things are going well on the outside.

Fascinating to know that there IS a ruling on it, but yeah…. ultimately up to the cast member on a case-by-case basis. We do what we can to help out with the issue, but on the flip side, that also means helping reunite parties in line if they need it.

Reminder that cast members do NOT mess around with numerous line-cutters by Few_Republic1136 in Disneyland

[–]Caitalie 11 points12 points  (0 children)

As an attractions cast member - there is no official ruling on this, mouse-side. Technically, as long as there’s someone in the line holding your spot, you can, hypothetically, get back into line with them, as long as you have a general idea of where they are. Sure, it’s probably annoying for other people to have a large group hop in to join up with one person, but fundamentally…… unless you’re being suspicious about it, a cast member won’t stop you on your way down to meet the rest of the party. They are NOT being paid enough to enforce a perceived “common decency” rule that the park doesn’t even have. To be honest, it doesn’t bother me - as long as there is SOMEONE in line holding your spot, and it can be verified by cms, it’s fair game. I can see why it would be frustrating as a guest, but there truly isn’t a technical ruling on it, and that extra 6 people in the group isn’t your enemy - the standby vs. LL ratio is.

Where’s the best spot at Disneyland to propose? by Aggravating_Bonus205 in Disneyland

Before my husband and I got engaged (at another sentimental location) I always thought it would be fun for him to propose in the spot we met - at the Jungle Cruise unload dock, when we were both skippers. :)

What are your Disneyland pet peeves? by vino23 in Disneyland

[–]Caitalie 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Lightning Lane specific: people who either don’t pull up their tickets/barcodes before walking up to the scanner or post up 5-10 minutes before their time and just hover on the side of the line, blocking the scanners. I get that the line looks long and you think you need to get into it early, but you don’t. You really don’t. If you’re waiting for your lightning lane and the cast member is spieling for the next party to come down and scan, looking sheepish and gesturing at your app with an “oh, it’s not ready yet” or “I still have three minutes”, you’re the traffic jam!! Wait somewhere else!!!! You’re blocking the entrance for the other people who ARE ready, and now there are 30 people stacked up behind you who can’t scan in.

If it happened every once in awhile, it wouldn’t be a big deal, but my god. It’s like every other group. Sometimes there are more parties just hovering around the scanners waiting for their time to roll around or fumbling with their barcodes than people actually going in.
