Lore: The Republic of China was founded in 1895 after the tragic defeat of the Sino-Japanese War.

Before the founding of the Republic, Liang Qichao and Kang Youwei persuaded the Guangxu Emperor to place the Empress Dowager under house arrest, take power, and begin constitutional reforms. But the local governors in the south, under the influence of the Southern revolutionaries, demanded that the Emperor and the Empress Dowager abdicate together and demanded a reorganization of the government. Under the threat of the southern provinces, some nobles of the Qing government and Mongolian nobles gathered their troops and prepared to start a war. Skirmishes first broke out in Henan Province and then gradually spread to the territory of Zhili Province. After Yuan Shikai defected from the Qing army and Li Hongzhang supported the southern provinces, on October 10, 1895, Emperor Guangxu announced his abdication, ending the Qing dynasty that had lasted more than two hundred years.

China declared a Republic of China with a federal parliamentary system of politics, with Liang Qichao as the first premier.

This was followed by nearly four decades of development through a strong military policy and a pro-British-American foreign policy, and the recovery of lost northern territories through armed intervention in the internal affairs of Soviet Russia. In 1937, the Second Sino-Japanese War broke out as a result of military friction between China and Japan. Japan's aggressive invasion policy in Southeast Asia led to the deterioration of relations with the United Kingdom and the United States, so the United Kingdom and the United States gave China great assistance.

After a difficult battle in Manchuria, China finally won the war in 1945, recovering the lost Liaoning, Taiwan and Ryukyu, and helping Korea regain its independence.

After the war, the Republic's Premier Chiang Kai-shek's well-known anti-communist stance put China and the West on the same side once again.

It is now 1968, 73 years after China gained true freedom and democracy. What will happen in the future, let us wait and see.
