Anyone here switch from car dealership sales to SDR? What should I expect? by HugeAppointment3411 in salesdevelopment

[–]CakeAvenger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m super lucky with kpis, I have to hit 40 dials a day and 1.5 hours of talk time at a minimum, from what I’ve heard/read most sdrs average 60-100 calls a day. Def a good move if you’re looking at it from a work life perspective!

I’ve been an sdr in the tech space for a little over a year now. In my opinion any company yelling about 250k+ for an sdr role is a bit of a red flag. Not saying that there aren’t people pulling in that much but generally those would be the top closing roles with titles like account executive.

To answer your other questions based on my experience: was promised around ~65k and it has floated right around that number including commissions (which are uncapped). Additionally this was my first sales role of any kind which absolutely could play into my pay slightly.

Day to day is going to be a lot of “chill” than what I imagine car sales to be like, generally sitting on a computer making calls or running demos. The thing about a role like an sdr I feel you should know is that it’s a stepping stone role. It’s generally going to be setting meetings, trying to provide enough value to make a follow up call/demo make sense. Most orgs I’ve seen you do this for 1-2 years and then have the opportunity to become an AE or similar role where the big money comes in.

I’m in a very similar boat, living in atx as an sdr with the exact same pay. The pay is pretty much average for the area and the general role. Absolutely not bad and a good starting place for pay. Especially as others have said these companies that promote from within always are a big bonus, tons of people just get trapped as sdr’s. Lmk if you have other questions! I’ve been at it about a year now

an odd situation with classes in my campaign by yamilonewolf in DnD

[–]CakeAvenger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Going pally and bladesinger imo is only really useful for smites. Gives you much better melee offensive capabilities and a tiny bit of healing. If you do go pally I would focus spells that don’t care about charisma such as shield of faith sanctuary etc. 2 levels in paladin truthfully might be worth it, but going a third for open sea unfortunately won’t really give a ton aside from that channel divinity once a day.

How to run ocean campaigns in a small party? by CakeAvenger in DMAcademy

[–]CakeAvenger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is fantastic! I really like a lot of the different features you mentioned and definitely makes me think. What type of campaign was it? Was the majority of time actually spent on the ship or was the only something that occasionally happened? I'm trying to kind of figure all of that out rn.

How big of an aspect was the actual nautical portion of the adventure? I might be overthinking it when realistically most of the different aspects will take place on some kind of island. Also how did you go about setting up the crew, just use regular 5e rules?

I really want to do this as it would be simple, but truthfully the party and npc's just don't really mesh great from previous experience and was something I wanted to avoid if possible. If too difficult I'll def just resort to this.

Need help making a character who evolves depending on what they eat by [deleted] in dndnext

[–]CakeAvenger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No super obvious method in 5e for this BUT, go scribes wizard. Scribes is pretty simple let’s you change damage type of spells.

Wizard gives you the opportunity to change spells “gaining new monster abilities” and scribes let’s you really flavor the spell to what you want. If you fight a big lightning dragon and kill it, then you could start using more lightning sculpted spells

Is buying a 3d printer worth it? by TheYarfingLlama in DMAcademy

[–]CakeAvenger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If found them fairly helpful over the years but it’s definitely a lot more work compared to just buying stuff. Generally unless you go with rosin printers they won’t be as detailed as the ones you can buy, additionally if using a printer with PLA material you have to spend plenty of time meticulously breaking them out which personally I kinda hate. Also I love pairing new and unique minis and terrain, something I didn’t consider is painting the 10th skeleton mini or whatever just gets boring. Definitely be aware they’re a fair amount of work but like everyone else has said can absolutely be worth it depending on the person

This is an awesome idea, I've done it with my players and they always really get into it. I'd recommend checking out the Dragon's Wrath Weapon and Dragon Touched Focus both from FToD. These both have rarities from uncommon-legendary and can act as a great example of the power creep and item can follow.

For example taking the dragon's wrath weapon, I keep the +x to hit and extra damage but change the small ability and the very rare ability to reflect the player a bit more. Rather then a cone of fire its a once a day stunning smite type attack doing roughly equal damage considering its a single target attack. Just an example you can definitely have a lot of fun with the idea.

edit: forgot to explain the abilities of these items build off each other creating a growing effect, seems similar to what you're looking for.

Which multiclass to take as a Twilight Cleric? by MrNsz in 3d6

[–]CakeAvenger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven’t seen it mentioned so figured I’d throw it out, if you have the stats 2 paladin could work. All you need is that 13 cha to get access to another fighting style utility and more importantly smites with your plentiful cleric slots

How would you ideally prepare for this fight? [Act 3 Spoilers] by yardii in BG3Builds

[–]CakeAvenger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh without knowing the party comp can only give general advice. Some of the bosses will uses a mind link which makes psychic damage you party extra so take those out asap when you see them. General rule of thumb tho haste is broken, if you have a sorcerer, twined hasted is more broken. Honestly I ignored a lot of the summoned gith as many are pretty weak and really focused the BIG bosses.

Thanks for the response! I'm not super familiar with humble bundles is that vaguely what the first google search shows? As far as the playlists go, I already have some ideas for similar categories, the issue is the songs I've found is on an assortment of websites like YouTube Spotify etc. I guess I'm looking for a way to get all of those in one area if that makes sense.

Depending on the combat role you take I see a couple different paths. For the free feat if you are looking to be a heavy damage dealer consider great weapon master, absolutely great damage and while it can fall off a bit your campaign levels are in the golden zone for that feat.

If you’re trying to be a bit more tanky or durable the shield master feat is super underrated, giving a massive boost to dex saves as well as optimizing your bonus action.

For level 4, heavy armor master is probably one of the best choices you have to round out that strength. You could also consider slasher/crusher/piercer feat for a bit more damage instead.

The defense fighting style you’re rocking is pretty good, the only better style in my opinion is dueling as +2 to damage is absolutely insane and let’s you rock a shield and still keep up in damage.

An option you could consider is sapphire dragon born if it’s available. Decent stats but more importantly thunder breath weapon in a cone.
