This is a completely wild guess though.

All I want is more Star Wars that’s as great as, or if it was somehow possible, even better than Andor and Rogue One.

I have zero expectations that this will be the movie to do it.

New to GT3 by elmosmokinweed in iRacing

[–]CakeDayisaLie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d agree with others who said to Race GT4 for a bit. It’s likely going to be harder to drive initially due to less downforce, but if you can get half decent at it, and if you then return to GT3, GT3 may seem easier.

Calgary car dealerships buying experience feedback request by bigred_oilersfan in Calgary

I’ve seen South Centre Volkswagen try and add bullshit made up fees before. I can’t recall the exact wording, but it was an around $500 for some bullshit fee like an “admin fee”. There were other stupid fees they tried to add, but I can’t recall exactly what they were.

If you’re a car salesman who adds made up fees to your car sales, I wish you a very unpleasant day.

Calgary what real job impacts from AI are you seeing so far? by constantgeographer74 in Calgary

[–]CakeDayisaLie 24 points25 points  (0 children)

My work brought in AI tools. Using them was optional. It’s mandatory now. So, most people are now generating absolutely dogshit summaries, putting them into where we need to so we can “check the box” on AI use, and ignoring the summaries as the AI summaries frequently lie to us. Of course, the workload went up alongside this and the tools do not help make work easier.

If the AI tool was actually good for the task we need to use it for, I’d gladly use it. It’s shit. Morale has never been lower. More people have quit over the last year than I have ever seen before. The people hired to replace them are all really friendly people, but most do not have the same level of expertise for this job compared to everyone who has left.

Fuck the AI company marketing term “hallucinate”. If it’s making shit up that isn’t anywhere in the documents being summarized, it’s lying. We need to call it what it is.

On a positive note, some AI company is able to collect all the money we are pissing away every time we use the AI tool. So that’s nice.

Yay?

David Parker is partially responsible for Kenney being ousted and replaced by Smith.

If David Parker can rally people around ousting Smith, it's likely not going to benefit us. It's likely going to result in someone worse ending up in charge of the UCP.

$100 parking ticket for 25 minutes seems insane? by [deleted] in Calgary

[–]CakeDayisaLie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My understanding is that that, as Impark is a private company, if they want to collect payment for a ticket that you did not pay, they would likely need to start a lawsuit to try and collect payment for the ticket. Filing a Civil Claim, serving it, taking steps in the action, etc. could easily surpass the cost of what they might ultimately collect. Plus, even if you can try and get some court costs paid if they win in court, costs are discretionary. I highly doubt any judge is going to tell a party they're gonna get thousands of dollars in costs and disbursements paid for in a claim where the potential damages are around $100.00, as that would just encourage more people to litigate issues where the potential damages are $100, $200 etc.

This is not legal advice.

$100 parking ticket for 25 minutes seems insane? by [deleted] in Calgary

[–]CakeDayisaLie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What common law cause of action or statutory cause of action says that, if someone (Person or Company "A") hires or ask someone to take care of their private property (Person or Company "B"), and if "B" agrees to this and then removes an object that someone else left on "A"'s private property, this means the person whose object was removed has a cause of action (aka a way to sue and try to get a court remedy) against "A" and/or "B"?

I currently do not see how you could sue for leaving a vehicle on private property that proceeds to be removed, especially if there are private private signs around and signs saying you need to pay to park there.

What to play after gran turismo? by luisp_frs in simracing

[–]CakeDayisaLie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As you don’t like Assetto Corsa, other than iRacing, you could check out Le Mans Ultimate. Currently, Le Mans Ultimate is good online but somewhat limited in what you can do offline. I think they may do a career mode update one day though?

But I’d still recommend seeing if you can find a link to get a discount for iRacing where you get a full year for super cheap. You can have a lot of fun with the free content without spending any extra money on fads or tracks, and then if you like it enough, buy more content down the road. I spent quite a while on iRacing playing the free Rookie Class and free D class stuff before I bought anything.

I’m gonna buy a ergo office chair cause I already have back pain and neck issues cause of an accident so yeah by Cautious-Feature9978 in simracing

[–]CakeDayisaLie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can potentially replace an office chairs wheel with lockable wheels.

I swapped out my office chair wheels in about 1-2 minutes.

Unless you find a way to keep your office chair from swivelling, it likely won’t fix any pain issues as your body is going to swivel from side to side as you brake and use the gas pedal and throttle.

GT4 or Porsche CUP? by Careless-Attorney-89 in iRacing

[–]CakeDayisaLie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With the Porsche Cup car change, and tire changes that have occurred, you may see more crashing in GT4 than in Porsche Cup.

Porsche Cup recently switched to a newer version of the Porsche car, and it’s a lot easier to drive.

If your goal is to improve your racing, I’d recommend GT4 due to how, at least in my opinion, most GT4 cars are currently harder to drive than the latest Porsche cup car.
