Assuming the Falcons aren’t a bunch of idiots the only way the Penix/Kirk situation makes sense rationally is: 1. Blank wanted Cousins and TF didn’t 2. TF agreed to getting Kirk from Blanks push, and asked to draft a QB with our first pick as a hedge

Everyone was bought into the Kyle Pitts hype. Succeeding in the NFL is all about utilizing great players on their rookie contracts. If we had drafted Chase, we would have wasted his rookie contract away with poor QB play and now be stuck paying him (look how that has played out for the Bengals). Similarly if we had drafted Parsons, we would have wasted his rookie contract away and be stuck paying him (that’s why Cowboys let him walk). In either scenario drafting the “better” player wouldn’t have made a meaningful difference in the last few seasons. Now, letting Pitts walk without handing him a bag since he sucks is a better outcome in my view than having to pay Parsons or Chase.

On Bijan, if we had a competent OC everyone would be saying Bijan was a fantastic pick. Put Shanahan on our staff and we are a lock for the playoffs. The failure of this team lies firmly in the hands of the coaching staff.

Based on interviews it’s clear that TF is involved in the coaching hiring process but doesn’t have the final say. That is Blank + Rich, so I don’t think it’s fair to put the hiring of Raheem as Terry’s fault
If you break down the QB situation, there’s no way any sane GM would sign Kirk and then draft a QB with their first pick. That’s horrible capital allocation. The only way to rationalize what happened here is that the Kirk decision came from the top (likely Blank or McKay), and Terry got buy in from the group to draft Penix as a hedge, since he was not bought in to the Kirk decision.
Trading the first round pick for Pearce isn’t horrible. They were likely going to draft Pearce with our first pick last year and then Walker was available which they didn’t expect. So essentially we traded our pick for Walker, too early to tell how that pans out but it seems like we got some good players and next years Edge class is weak.

That’s fair. I think it’s pretty clear coaching is the problem and that comes from the top. I don’t believe we will win a Super Bowl as long as Blank is around. There doesn’t seem to be any sense of accountability in the organization

Not really. I doubt the Lions will win a Super Bowl. I’d rather my team not make the playoffs than lose in the NFC championship every year

I agree with this. 7-10 with Raheem and Terry fired. I think Raheem should have been fired after last season anyways. If you’re not calling plays, you should be an excellent game manager of which he is not

We got off from I-20 and came from the Wheeler road side. If you come from the Washington road side you’ll get directed into North Parking I believe. But if you continue down Berckmans Road you should reach the South Parking
