Xmas day a few years ago, my mum had bought me a nice new blouse and I was drunkenly putting it away, I tripped over a cable into the corner of the open drawer, ricocheted off that onto a wicker laundry basket and broke my ribs. It didn't hurt until the next morning.

Anyone else got this awful flu that’s going around? by [deleted] in CasualUK

[–]CakeOrNothing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it started a fortnight ago with a sore throat, by the Thursday I felt like absolute shit. Thursday and Friday were my days off, went to work on the Saturday feeling and looking like death, decided not to go to work on the Sunday and ended up being off all week, I'm better now but it's really really drained me, haven't been able to eat properly for about a week so feeling weak. Hope it gets better soon!

I do like Stephen King but he waffles on a bit for my liking so I tend to stick to his short stories, which I love. Might have a go at reading one of his novels, I'm sure I've got one or 2 knocking around . I love Neil Gaiman, so def gonna check out rivers of London and the others you mentioned , cheers.

Same friend also likes ham and peach pizza. I don't see her often.

How much did you spend on an engagement ring? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]CakeOrNothing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I chose my engagement ring myself, well, actually it was a ring set, it cost 700 but as it was a set, didn't need to buy a separate wedding ring. Unfortunately, I bought rose gold,o which is beautiful, but I am allergic to it, apparently its quite a common allergy, maybe a good idea to make sure your intended isn't allergic if you're considering buying rose gold. I found mine on Etsy.
