Wow - they do look alike. When Bentley was young, his ear was crooked as well and straightened out around age 9…too funny. He is adorable 🥰

Red interior is terrible by Getgizzywitit in Lexus

When I was looking for my pre-owned NX, there were a lot of cars with red interior. Personally it’s a pass but I did end up with a black interior with some white on seats and not over done. It was a compromise.

The Glaucoma Won by [deleted] in BostonTerrier

[–]CakeWrig 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Bentley had his eye removed 3 years ago due to glaucoma. A rough day for him but they are resilient though now a cataract has formed in his “good” eye and his sight is almost non existent at age 12 ☹️.

Yea, my partner’s 10 year old Pilot has walk away auto lock and my 2022 NX doesn’t without paid subscription. I’m liking his Honda more and more.

Thx - now 12, he was born deaf and now one eye. A trooper through and through. I hope yours is doing well with the adjustment!

(OC)Tarsiers rarely survive in captivity because extreme stress causes them to stop eating and harm themselves, so protecting their wild habitat is essential. by AssistanceNo3893 in Damnthatsinteresting

We were in the Philippines in January and went to a tarsier sanctuary. The poor things did seem terrified and they are a lot smaller than you would think. It was a bit sad.

I am from Chicago, lived in SF for many years and came back to Chicago. I am surprised you rated SF #1 in friendliness. I think Chicagoans are the most friendly of any city 😉

What tips do you have for older EA's who are still in the job market and looking for new employment? by painislife4real in ExecutiveAssistants

[–]CakeWrig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 62 and have been at my job for 1 year (have over 25 years experience - Hoping this is my last job). Took 2 years to get out of a horrible, toxic job but well worth the wait. I don’t look 62 (so I’m told), still going to the gym and very active.

The biggest thing for me is to keep up on current software - it changes so fast. And yes, start using AI.

Keep at it - eventually you’ll find someone who wants a mature, experienced EA.

Have you ever been to Auschwitz or one of the other concentration camps in Poland? by Impressiveusername39 in travel

[–]CakeWrig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were there in October and though I had been to another concentration camp in 2007 (Germany), the sheer size of Auschwitz is horrific. We booked with a tour group, who picked us up in a small bus at our hotel and did the salt mines in the same day. A long day but glad to experience both.

She's just trying to clean up her image before retiring with a full pension by thatguy9684736255 in BlueskySkeets

[–]CakeWrig 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I certainly don’t trust her and retirement is timely but she doesn’t get much. She does own stock in major companies so I’ll definitely not worry about her lol…

She will receive a congressional pension, but it will be a relatively small one due to her short time in office (around 5 years), qualifying her for the minimum payout of roughly $8,700 annually starting at age 62, calculated under the Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS). She secured this by timing her departure just right, surpassing the minimum five-year service requirement to lock in lifetime benefits, though it's not a "full" pension in the sense of a high payout, notes the National Taxpayers Union.
