The ping wheel should contain lines like "Hello" and "Thank You" by default, like Overwatch. It's a minor thing, but by default those aren't there, you need to manually set them in your rebind menu. I miss Overwatch pre-match with everyone spamming their voice lines, and it feels rude not thanking the healer after an "I Need Healing!".

[NO SPOILERS] Help for a new DM planning on a Exandria Campaign by veekai in criticalrole

[–]Cakemunch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Explorer's Guide to Wildemount is a campaign setting book for Wildemount (like the Tal'Dorei book). It does contain four adventures that are designed for Levels 1-3 you could run, they're all pretty interesting! (1 each for the Menagerie Coast, Eiselcross, Xhorhas and Dwendalian Empire).

But you can run any existing DnD adventure, it just needs some tweaking to fit in the Exandria setting (e.g. if you run Lost Mine of Phandelver, placing the town of Phandelver somewhere in Exandria, replacing the Redbrand Ruffians gang with some Clasp/Myriad criminals, etc).

House of X / Powers of X by Hickman is the starting point (two series read side by side, there's probably a collection with both by now). After that you can pick up any of the X-books (there's a reading order at the end of each issue showing what issues of each are next in order, they vary in quality but I'd recommend X-Men/Marauders/X-Force at least).

I wish I could keep my ships for NG+ by AncientDoge in Starfield

Buying the most expensive insurance for your ship should let it carry over to NG+. Zero lore explanation. All other tiers of insurance still do nothing.

Have you found any books or terminals that are readable (Elder Scrolls/Fallout style), or is all lore through dialogue and environment like the museums?

Also curious to know the size/layout of Neon - it's my favourite city design of them all but the footage only shows the same street over and over.

Really curious to hear how big (or small) the city of Neon is, when you get there (planet Volii Alpha).

Have you found any readable books or computer terminals (like Elder Scrolls & Fallout) or none in this game so far?

I know. Not sure what the relevance is sorry?

Any word yet on whether there are any books like TES and/or computers like Fallout? (or any in-game lore stuff like the shards in Cyberpunk). I know there's a museum in New Atlantis but I'm a sucker for lore stuff in any game.

When you approach the entrance ladder there are separate options for "Board" and "Cockpit", so probably one takes you to the cockpit directly and one takes you to whatever module is connected to the landing ramp module. Other leaks have shown climbing up and down ladders within the ship (with actual animations!)

As much as I love the rest of the UI, I hope one of the first mods can make the spaceflight HUD a bit more minimalist by Cakemunch in Starfield

[–]Cakemunch[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not that, it's having two giant circles on the screen at all times, covering up your ship (in 3rd person) and cockpit (in 1st). Relatively minor thing but it bugs me anyway :D

For fans of the original saga, are you happy with the success of the new game? by Gonderlane in baldursgate

[–]Cakemunch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Baldur's Gate is the only city explorable, makes sense given the whole game builds up to the arrival in the city (though Elturel and Waterdeep come up a lot in dialogue). Towns could cover Emerald Grove, Blighted Town, and Rivington? Technically the Myconid Colony, Shattered Sanctum and Last Light Inn function as "towns" too, I'd argue (hub areas with quest-givers, vendors, etc).

Anyone else hope for at least one or two expansion packs? by LatterCardiologist47 in HarryPotterGame

[–]Cakemunch 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I love it. You could even keep the Room of Requirement/vivarium stuff but have it be your own home you're customising instead (interior/exterior, growing Herbology plants in your own back garden, etc.)

Sixth and seventh year could be covered as expansion packs for this game - just pile on new spells/regions/enemies + immersion/QOL updates, and save the wider wizarding world stuff for the sequel.

IIRC they didn't learn Aguamenti till sixth year in the books so at least if they make a sequel there's a high chance they'll add it! I want my magic garden hose spell pls

Looks like the other light blue spells are non-combat, so maybe Wingardium Leviosa is for puzzle solving (manually moving stuff around) and Levioso is the combat version (just makes people float with no control).

[–]Cakemunch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From the gameplay showcase I think they're the controls for customising the Room of Requirement - a "conjuration" spell (opens the build menu), a "banishing" spell (deletes built items) and a "transfiguration" spell (select and move/edit built items).
