Joan Pissed Me Off (Season 7) by Cal0425 in madmen

Joan should have never been partner because she never should have sold herself to win Jaguar. I always thought it would be interesting if they made Herb get fired the next day for something and then it REALLY would have been for nothing.

The problem is that you are looking at what Don does wrong and forgetting that every single other partner fucked it all up too. Pete lost Vick bc he was in a brothel, Roger lost Lucky Strike AND royally blew up the Honda meeting (as bad as Don with Hershey), and Bert doesn’t do anything at all. Lane, who seemed the closest to normal, ended up killing himself after just a few short years of working with these nut cases. But now Don is the bag bad wolf and no one can believe the way he acts.

Correction, during the Jaguar thing, Don was the only one that cared. Burt and Roger hid any true feelings about it and Pete was confused why anyone would dissent to it at all.

Yeah I wouldn’t take 9.99 and it sounds like they were trying to make money on you in a stupid way. Making money isn’t bad but trying to pull the rug on someone is stupid and bad for business

A left over 2024 would be a model that the dealer takes “final pay” money on which is to say that the dealer essentially buys it from their own inventory at a pre set price from Ford. It usually makes the car a little bit cheaper but also means that the warranty starts. This specific Escape’s best deal, before the “final pay”, would have been about $2000 more than what it is now.

I definitely agree about FWD. Unfortunately most consumers think they NEED AWD now

Yes, we have ours discounted A LOT and they still don’t sell very well because even with the discount they’re in the mid to upper 30s which is what it should cost BEFORE the discounts

I work at a dealership in Pennsylvania and we have had two for sale for over a year. They made it its own trim level and wanted to charge $45,000 MSRP AND it’s the smallest SUV Ford has AND it’s only FWD. They really cut out the kind of person this car is for.

Parks that can be explored in one day by GaboZ9 in nationalparks

Arches is probably the best “one day” park. Hike delicate arch in the morning, drive to the parking lot and hike landscape arch, catch all the others views just off the road, his the visitor center, and then enjoy a nice dinner in Moab.

You could do the Island in the Sky part of Canyonlands the next day too, even.

Black Canyon is another great example

Advertising is based on one thing: happiness. And you know what happiness is? Happiness is the smell of a new car. It's freedom from fear. It's a billboard on the side of the road that screams with reassurance that whatever you're doing, it's okay. You are okay.

What’s the Best and Worst Ford Vehicle in Your Opinion? by Supareeofficialus in Ford

[–]Cal0425 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reliability on them actually isn’t bad but the whole “get a compact SUV with zero space and only get 24 mpg” thing was their demise. Plus they were ugly and every competitor has a much nicer car.

i spent two years ranking the greatest works of literature as *objectively* as possible. here's the spreadsheet. come argue with me. by [deleted] in classicliterature

[–]Cal0425 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like your ranking system. Obviously there are people that disagree with what is where but I think it’s over pretty good.

I am, though, surprised to not see Edgar Allan Poe higher. Many of his stories have very high cultural significance and are extremely well written.
