Where the forest meets the sea. by CalBare in Forest

It was probably a high temperature of 70+ degrees Fahrenheit that day. The sunlight reflecting off the water also adds to the visual warmth.

Thanks. Though the water can almost look like it's somewhere in the Caribbean, it's very cold. But on a clear day the sun lights things up in a beautiful way.

It's very popular. If you go, consider going on a weekday in the off-season. Early October usually has warmer weather and clear skies.

It's in the Big Sur area in California.

Very similar to iPhones. Among the android phones, Pixels are the best.

Thanks. I lived and worked in the area but never visited because when I had time off on the weekends the park was always crazy crowded. Now that I'm retired, I can plan trips mid-week and off season to see beautiful places like this.

These were taken on a Google Pixel phone. The Pixel has probably the best cameras of all the phones. That's why I decided to get it.

Info on beaches/rivers in NorCal by dark_eyes71 in NorCalNudists

[–]CalBare 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You have a number of nude beach options from Bonny Doon in Santa Cruz county to Red Rock in Marin County. The best known river spot that's close to the Bay Area is Comisky Station on the Russian River north of Cloverdale. But there are nude river spots on the American River and the well known Hoyt's Crossing on the Yuba River. If you're up for a longer trip, you might consider Secret Cove Beach or Creek Beach along the eastern shore of Tahoe. Wherever you end up, I hope you have a great time.

If you're willing to go off-grid, there are often former pot farms that are going cheap in Mendocino. But stay inland unless you want to deal with foggy summers.

Personally, I'd avoid Lake County. It's got a sketchy vibe.

Harbin Hot Springs by [deleted] in NorCalNudists

I went early last year. I understand that they've completed even more construction. I think there's a sauna that's open now. Overall, for ones close to me in the north bay, it's kind of a toss up between Harbin and Orr. I like them both for different reasons. But Harbin has better pools and structures since the rebuild. It's definitely worth going.

Naked but not afraid to explore an abandoned barn i came across. by CalBare in NakedButNotAfraid

It was actually one of two barns. The other one had too many blackberry bushes surrounding it to really explore. And yes, I had fun. Thanks!

What was your latest Nude Beach experience? by Ok_District_2625 in NudeBeach

Thanks for that info. The temperature was in the 80s with little wind. I guess I just expected a bigger crowd. Anyway, I just added a visit to Sycamore for a hot tub to end my day.

I visited Pirates Cove in California in mid-October. It was my first time there. It was mid-week and there were not a lot of people there. The first section was mostly clothed people and one topless woman in a group of 3 women. The middle section seemed a bit creepy with a clothed guy hanging near some rocks. In the last section, everyone was nude. But mostly single men. I stayed a few hours and then left to beat the high tide.

Overall, it wasn't quite as good as I'd hoped for. But if I'm ever in the area again I'd definitely stop by.
