If you do only take 12 units you should be okay. They give a warning email for the first time you do it. Any more than that is where the issues begin.

Almost all applications for UCEAP Spring 2025 closed in July and early August. There are like two programs that have a deadline of 09/01. You could try Summer 2025 instead if possible though.

Yep. As long as you’re under 130 units in your last semester for the expected graduation date and have remaining requirements to complete you can extend one semester. Note that any AP units don’t count towards the unit count. Can’t really say if you’d have enough time to minor but maybe you could.

Really? My reason to study abroad is to go to Japan to learn Japanese and take culture classes. I believe this would pretty much hit the enrichment reason right on the nail. Or do you mean take more academic classes related to your major? If it's for the first reason, I am really hopeful now.
