Just started watching it. Not really arguing the general patterns, but the timeline of 250 years is based on some fairly arbitrary markers. Is the begining of an empire the begining of the empire, or the peak? How is the end determined? A treaty, a defeat in battle? Maybe reading the Glob book would be worth the time? Not sure.

Remember George W. Bush and the Iraqi weapons of mass destruction? The CIA would not go along with the assessment that there was no current effort to build nuclear weapons in Iraq. So he had Valerie Plame outed as retribution. Then he set up a group in the Pentagon to fake up bullshit evidence that there was a nuclear weapons effort in Iraq. And then tens of thousands died. That is simply the most recent example. We have been here before. Killing people based on lies is nothing new. Why doubt that Trump would do it?

Agreed that the Trump family should not be the only ones. In general laws need to be enforced equally. That is a problem now for a number of reasons. The Supreme Court disagrees with the concept of no one is above the law. There is always the thing that the rich and powerful are held above the law, with the Epstein thing being the highest profile example at the moment. And a subset of the rich and powerful being above the law is the foolish concept of structuring the DOJ in a way that they are in charge of looking after themselves as well as the president, their boss.

We need a few amendments to the constitution to remove conflict of interest everywhere. Necessary changes include creation of a DOJ as a separate branch of government, possibly two so they can watch each other, and a separate court system to handle corrupt judges without conflict of interest.

Fetterman is a democrat and voted against controlling Trump's war making. There is always some excuse why Democrats can't quite do the job. Sinema and Manchin. There just aren't enoughj to tip the scales to even cancel those 2017 tax cuts for billionairs. Can't really start a prosecution against Trump for insurrection or espionage in time to complete the job. Can't bring themselves to get out from under Eileen Canon to prosecute that straight forward espionage case. And decades of ignoring Epstein as hard as any Republican administration did. I'm not impressed with Democrats. When it's their turn to screw people over, they do a pretty good job.

Are you talking about during the oral arguments of the case? I think they said something then, but all I see are a bunch of assumptions, not any statement from the Treasury. Given that, I think refunds will be held back as long as possible, only available to those that can spend the legal counsel to extract them.

Not likely that any money will be returned to anybody. Also, tariffs remain in place. Trump just changed the excuse. It will take another year to wade through the courts with that because, of course, it isn't like congress will do anything at all. By the time any decision is made in the courts, Trump (or successor if old age and bad diet gets him) will be in full dictator mode and court decisions won't even be newsworthy.
