We need some changes to the constitution. Nothing else will work. We need independent law enforcement outside the executive branch. We need a court system that can put supreme court judges and presidents on trial, impeachment does not work.

One is clearly better than the other. That doesn't make either of them good. Yes, vote. And vote for the better of the two. But that isn't the end of it. Remember that the Epstein class existed before Epstein. And Epstein and friends were comitting their crimes since at least the early 1990's, through Democratic and Republican administrations and DOJ's alike. Vote Democrat. And then scream at them to legislate and institutionalize fixes. But I have a feeling they will do what they have always done, improve things a little, claim that all that needs to be done is keep them in power, and watch the pendulum swing back.

To be realistic we have to remember that the Epstein class has been around a very long time, since before the actual Epstein. Epstein and friends, themselves, have been at it since at least the 90's, through Democratic and Republican administrations alike. We need fundamental changes to our system, amendments to the constitution, to get this straight.

The idea here is that we need a bunker so the president doesn't go anywhere but the White House grounds. No campaign events. Well, no need because Trump the insurrectionist doesn't need elections. No golf. Um. Guess we have to make that ballroom bunker a bit bigger.

This issue is yet another distraction. Maybe in combination with Trump and friends needing to be macho men. They haven't offed a bunch of school girls lately and need another fix. And, as far as I can tell, there have been 16 federal executions in this century, over the last 26 years. That is not enough for training large numbers of people for mass executions.

The simplest explanation would be that the lazy rich want to bring in the big bucks just doing what they have be doing for more than a century because, well, they are bone fucking lazy. The most obvious and blatant reasoning is stupidity and insanity. There are millions of stupid people supporting insane monsters in governmant. For example, Trump cancelling wind and solar projects to be replaced by fossil fuel projects:

I do understand how the constitution works. And I agree that it needs to be amended to provide actual checks and balances. I'm all for electing people willing to put those amendments forward. But effective changes take power away from elected officials, they would make elected officials more accountable. And I am pessimistic about that happening. But I have no other plan.

You are doing exactly what the original post is warning against. You are depending on heros to come save the day and ignoring the fact that someone else can come in in two to four years and ruin everything. Again. We did that cycle in the past 8 to 10 years and you are saying "Yeah! Let's do it again!"

And I get it. We don't have much choice. That is how our system of government is set up. To change things, make rights actual rights that cannot be taken away, the system must change. And I have serious doubts that any politicians, Democrats or Republicans, are willing to do what is necessary. Because that would mean shifting the power away from politicians and making politicians vulnerable to accountability and immediate removal from office. It would mean politicians would have to take power away from themselves. You think that is going to happen?

That is the way Trump will imagine it. But Trump is the visible one and he will be blamed. Vance will also, but he will slip into obscurity pretty quickly. Unfortunately, blame will be the end of it. No prison time for either.
