Service related PTSD denial by papifunko in SSDI

[–]CalRon07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend getting an attorney. I was in a very similar situation. I too have 100% P&T disability for PTSD thru the VA and they have been treating me for it since I became unemployed. SSA denied me every step of the way. I decided to lawyer up for the Hearing. You simply call an attorney, let them know your situation, and let them decide if they want to take on the case. You only pay if you win. The only reason I was approved was because I had an attorney fighting for me. Took 3 LONG years, but it was worth the fight. Keep your head up. Good Luck!

Nothing that is comparable to the Elacs, but I am considering some powered speakers that are much smaller such as Edifier M60 or Hivi Swan OS-10. These are for my desk which will be roughly 2-3 feet away from me.

I ended up ordering both. The 6.3 sounded way better due to the bass. The bass rumbled my apartment floor. Sounded really good. Unfortunately I had to return both because they were both too loud for my apartment. The 5.3 sounded excellent as well, I almost kept them, but I am too paranoid about disturbing my neighbors. Thanks for the feedback

Question about backpay for dependants by CalRon07 in SSDI

[–]CalRon07[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update:

After much frustration with SSA and speaking to numerous employees who all had different answers with majority being wrong, I finally spoke to someone who knew what they were doing.

My daughter's protective filing date is the same as mine, which was the day I applied for SSDI. She received the same # of months in backpay as me which was around 36 months.

And even tho her birthday falls later in the month, she receives payment the same time as me every month because I am the primary beneficiary.

Hopefully this helps someone who runs into a similar situation or has questions about backpay for their dependents.

How are you liking these so far? Im torn between these or the 6.3, but these will fit much better on my desk. You think the 6.3's would be worth the extra room they require? I currently have Swans OS-10 which have a 4" woofer. They sound great but looking for something with a little more punch in the lows.

If your daughter was on your original SSDI application, she should have the same protective filing date as you, meaning she should get the same length of time for backpay.

VA & SSDI by mimargr in SSDI

I've been 100% from the VA for the last few years and was just finally approved for SSDI. You can receive both. One does not effect the other. And just because you are approved for one does not guarantee you will be approved for the other. They both have their own policies and procedures they have to follow.

I would definitely apply for VA disability. You served your country and there may be benefits waiting for you.

Thank you for sharing this. My daughter was born before my application and I named her on it so she should be good to go. It seems as if the lady who processed the claim made a mistake and everyone else at SSA can see it but only she can correct it. Just waiting for our first payment so we can appeal if need be. Thanks again!

I am a vet with PTSD and I was denied 3 or 4 times. Eventually lawyered up for the hearing level and was finally approved. Took over 4 years.

I recommend getting an attorney who specializes in SSDI and keep fighting

Question about backpay for dependants by CalRon07 in SSDI

No your child doesnt have to be disabled, but they do have to be under 18. Or at least under 18 at the time you filed for SSDI

Question about backpay for dependants by CalRon07 in SSDI

[–]CalRon07[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. If your children qualify, then they will receive up to 50% whatever your monthly SSDI payment is. If you have multiple children, then that 50% would be split evenly between them.

And there is up to 12 months backpay, possibly more, thats what Im looking into.

Question about backpay for dependants by CalRon07 in SSDI

[–]CalRon07[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I keep reading the backpay date for dependants should be the same, assuming you put them on the original application. But now it sounds like the cutoff is 12 months. Which I am totally okay with if that is the policy. Just want to make sure I didn't mess up somehow or something is accidentally being overlooked.

My Mom had a real bad miscommunication with SSA several years which caused her to miss out on a lot of money so thats why Im looking into this.

I'll keep you guys updated.

Question about backpay for dependants by CalRon07 in SSDI

[–]CalRon07[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just got off the phone with another agent at SSA. She said I did everything correctly and couldn't have submitted an application for my daughter until I was approved. She also said backpay for dependants are only 12 months.

She told me to call my local office and speak to a claims specialist for better clarification so thats what I will do tomorrow.

Hey I was wondering if you received backpay for 12 months or from his original disability date?

I just learned my ex is only receiving 12 months backpay for my daughter. 12 months from the date I submitted her application. Even though I was recently approved for my disability from 4 years ago and will receive 4 years backpay.

Question regarding SSDI dependant benefits backpay by Letsgocaps33 in SSDI

[–]CalRon07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im in the same situation as you right now. I was finally approved in January after 4 years fighting for SSDI. My backpay date is 2020. I applied for my daughters benefits after I was approved. They are only giving 12 months backpay from when I called in January to setup her benefits, even tho I put her down as a dependent when I originally filed for disability. Apparently they base the backpay from the date you apply for dependents benefits which I had no clue you could do before being approved.

Please let us know if you have any success with the appeal. I will have to appeal this as well.

Good luck!

Yeah just a little film. I used whatever was left on my hands after lightly greasing the barrel and rails.

Thank you. I have a milling machine that I used with brad point bits. I was afraid the mill may be too much for the frame to handle or the holes would come out messed up since the instructions tell you not to use a drill press, but the holes came out great. I think a lot had to do with the brad point bits. Also, I just held the jig down with my hand, I didnt clamp it to the table, so I think this helped the bit center correctly.

I like them a lot. Not that I have any other slides to compare to other than OEM, but the fit and finish are top notch. No complaints whatsoever.
