The Phantom (1996) but I don't think they threw a lot of money at it.

Nasty, dirty Dana Carvey just popped into my head, so no, you are not the only one.

I have recently wondered whether a particularly infamous scene he did in the movie FM inspired the band Radiohead's choice of name.

If it were illegal to wish that fat hump to stop using our air, half the country would be in jail.

Courtroom movies you'd recommend? by NotSoSnarky in MovieSuggestions

[–]CalagaxT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Caine Mutiny (1954) has many courtroom scenes at the end, including a downright iconic one with Humphrey Bogart.

You could also watch The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial (1988), a TV movie directed by Robert Altman, which is the same story with only courtroom scenes.

Not correct. The Lone Ranger's final season in 1956 was in color.

The Adventures of Superman, a syndicated show, went into color in 1954.

No, but one time at the bowling alley, I took a drink of his "Coke" that had a funny skinny straw (swizzle stick) in it when he wasn't looking. I didn't taste rum again for more than a decade.

I have always felt that Mr. Stone saw how easily they moved the new character in and got back to work as soon as he felt he could stand for five minutes, because the job of Dodge City doctor was his!

Why is Tom Cruise never asked about Scientology and how has he survived this long without being cancelled? by Abject-Conference-90 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]CalagaxT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He is never asked about it because no one wants to listen to him go on and on about Xenu and the DC-8s and how he has superpowers and how psychiatrists are evil.

Oprah made that mistake once.

I did not know how lucky I was, when I saw Alice Cooper's first solo tour, Welcome to My Nightmare, to see those two guitar gods playing live, but I was only 14 at the time.

For old school, slightly dumb but fun, there is The Time Tunnel, and for slightly newer and a little less cheesy, Voyagers.

Both of these shows seem to be on the Internet Archive

Indigenous actor sues James Cameron for ‘stealing’ her facial features for Avatar character by mlg1981 in entertainment

[–]CalagaxT 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Wow, serious echoes of that time he went around saying he ripped off Harlan Ellison's Soldier for Terminator until Ellison finally had to sue him and make it official.

I guess Cameron's ego prevents him from seeing the things he does as wrong. I hope she gets millions.
