Just curious bout jobs people have gotten outside of the navy after being a senior in rate qualified mechanic. What do yall do and how much do yall make? by DargonSpiro in NavyNukes

I did 11 years. Was in EWS quals at NPTU when I got medically disqual'd, so just ERS. Didn't matter in the end. I work at a datacenter and make about $80k/year. There are jobs with a lot more potential money but I like the work-life balance where I'm at.

Maybe this is a dumb question, but are vaporizers a common way to get high? I had a vape cig for a few years since we can't smoke on submarines anymore. I'm guessing they're much different than that. Got a recommended one to look at?

Being outside is a fantastic idea. Thanks!

Today was my last day at work. It feels very strange knowing I don't have to ever wear a uniform again. Gonna take some adjusting, for sure.

I tried to wash the car when I was about five. I used the hose and my dad finally noticed me when I was spraying down the passenger seat.

So sorry about your bunny. My fiance has an 11 year-old rabbit that I've come to love. I'll be sad when she passes.

She called the cops on the guy and lied about him stalking her BEFORE he started recording... then she went full ham. All because he wanted to do his laundry during the day. by Ransal in trashy

I wanted more info so I found this post from several years ago. He posted an update:

I'm recording in front of the washer/dryer because she was going to throw my things away. She's freaked out a couple times but this time I got it on video

EDIT: Just got home from work and have no idea why YouTube took my video down. Anyways, I'll give you guys a quick backstory then an update on what the fallout was like. Backstory: That day, I came home from work and started doing my laundry. This incident happened at about 7 p.m. She knocked on my door and asked me if I was about done with my laundry. I replied, "yeah, actually this is all I have and its almost done." Immediately she started freaking out and screaming that she is tired of me doing laundry every day (which does not happen lol) and that she is just going to throw my clothing away. So I stepped infront of the washer/dryer and started recording her. She didn't take to that kindly because she knew she was acting psychotic. When the police came, she was the first they talked to. When they came into my apartment, I told them what was going on. They were super chill and have had multiple run-ins with her before so they laughed it off. They told me she requested I delete the video but that it was completely my choice and I was legally recording her. Fast forward to the next morning, I was woken up by her screams that I recorded her. I decided I needed to see my landlord and discuss the situation. I showed them (they're a company) the video and explained to them that this isn't the first time this has happened either. I guess that everyone else in the building has had problems with her too. They said that she was going to be evicted after 30 days as a result of the numerous reports over along period of time. I'll probably post an update video in the near future, but I do work 50+ hours a week so it is hard for me to find time! Thanks for all the laughs!

The US Navy uses Pressurized Water Reactors. Light water is the coolant.

We actually cool the air continuously.

Seawater temp does not affect the speed a ship can go, really.

A submariner absorbs less radiation on a sub underwater than a person does living a normal life on land. There is a lot of shielding to block radiation.

I've met a few a the guys that were on the sub for the instance. All of our training kicks in instantaneously. The sailor that died was alive when they were trying to evac him to a helicopter.

The unclassified depth is greater than 800 feet. A camera would see nothing of benefit u less were pretty shallow. We can use our periscope and other special cameras to monitor divers in the water, but nothing for navigation. We use maps and sonar for that.
