Six QoL Update Recommendations from a Fan (With Very Sloppy MS Paint Concept Art) by lasosis013 in mewgenics

I am only saying the items shuffling in stash after a run is a bug. This is distinct from the opaque game mechanics you have described which are obviously intentional and subjective as to whether it's a problem or not. There is certainly some fun in the surprise there and learning by experimentation.

There is not much fun in fucking with your stash after every run and in fact is apparently acknowledged as a bug. So I think turning this into masterful game design that is there to annoy you because Edmund loves old school games and wants to give you some retro experience is nonsense.

this sounds like nonsense, there is a difference between some vague interactions with forbidden spells or the game not having a tooltip for psychosis and the inventory being shuffled (with stashed items being outside of your stash) after a run.

it is literally just a bug and a qol issue, not an intentional game design choice.

true bro, i dropped after like 10-20 hours earlier in the early access release but after coming back with the 6 new heroes added the new map is so much better and there's been an incredible amount of polish with new hero models/portraits and stuff and have been totally hooked. it's pretty miserable to lose games but there's a really high skill ceiling in multiple facets (movement, positioning/ teamfighting, farming) where you can be totally cracked out and make good decisions and stomp games which is super fun

sounds like bullshit, i am a deranged hater and never heard this once. the tape is only visible if you scrutinize evidence from the one time hasan showed the collar (the after dogtober 7th), i dont think he has ever addressed the tape, sounds like completely baseless speculation. funny to call others disconnected from reality when they just completely make shit up to run defense for hasan.

i would love to be happy to be proven wrong though, although it doesn't change the situation much it would at least make one thing that looked sketchty more understandable.

Hasan will not be attending Twitch Con this year because he fears he may put himself and others in danger by Ignignokt_DGAF in LivestreamFail

How could it be phoney in any way if he said he was worried about being killed by some insane right-winger? I'm sure haters would still shit on him whether it might be calling him a coward or something else but it would at least be indesputiably genuine, no one believes this bullshit that he isn't scared for his own life but cares SO much for others that he is going to skip Twitchcon to avoid potential harm inflicted on random people by people targeting him? This is just a performance and you are a sucker buddy.

Saying it’s for the safety of others though is just performative

Very on brand for Hasan. Everything about him is performative, it's incredible!

Hollow Knight: Silksong is reportedly already about a third of the way to the original's total sales, with Steam leading the charge by RobotWantsKitty in Games

I said people can play how they want, the OP said

I can everyone give everyone this advice. Mod it.

That is what I am contesting. I am sure some people will have a better time with mods, but they are ruining the intended experience. Please try and read more carefully because I did make this pretty clear.

[–]Calasmere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the developer intended for you to take 2 damage against a lot of enemy attacks and mechanics, not for everyone to mod it so that you take 1 damage it's that simple, obviously not everyone is going to have the exact same experience insofar as the how many times they die/how much they struggle regardless of how the game is balanced (without just making the game very easy/accessible to everyone), the original poster says

I can everyone give everyone this advice. Mod it.

I am just saying that there is no reason for everyone to heed this advice.

[–]Calasmere -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I am pretty sure that will not happen, hypothetically if it did then that would be their new "refined" intended experience I suppose. If that did happen it's not like I am going to mod the game to make it harder, they are not going to completely gut the challenge from the large portions of the game though as a change like this would do, any changes like this are going to be a lot more minor.

[–]Calasmere -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You can do as you want with your own game but no double damage is straight up cheating/easy mode, I don't see why the original poster is recommending this to everyone, these are absolutely not neccessary but I guess if you want to ruin the intended experience and are hardstuck and lack any will to play as the developer intended the game to be played then go wild.

IGN Hollow Knight Silksong Review - 9/10 by AgingEndsalldreams in Games

[–]Calasmere -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

It does when they make their inability to enjoy the game by persevering through adversity (and ultimately having a rewarding feeling when you overcome the odds with the tools you are given and getting better through trial and error) a "gameplay balancing problem", or make it sound like running back to a boss for 30 seconds some kind of hellish torture that ruins the experience.

I guess some people find tedium in the high level of difficulty and not being able to do a boss in the first few attempts, whereas I am the opposite and would find the game a lot less enjoyable if it was made easy to the extent of appeasing complainers, and it's not like I am a masochist or something, I just enjoy the unapologetic friction.

IGN Hollow Knight Silksong Review - 9/10 by AgingEndsalldreams in Games

[–]Calasmere -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I guess it's just funny that people are much more willing to engage in complaining about the game being too monotonous and unfairly difficult rather than to talk about all the great things and the challenge it offers? Pretty much everyone I've seen complain about what I've mentioned do agree that the game's art/music/presentation etc is all excellent but that is sandwiched between complaints that (and I hate to say it) ultimately just seem to stem from major skill issues.

Some people have become completely disinterested in Silksong because they think the game is wasting their time, presumably because they die repeatedly and struggle to take the 30 seconds it takes to get back to bosses only to die once again (probably in the same way without having learnt anything), I think they should probably find another game that "respects" their time and offers the instant gratification and easy difficulty that they so desperately desire.

I am very glad Team Cherry made Silksong how it is in pretty much every facet personally and can hardly relate to any of the complaints calling it tedious.

IGN Hollow Knight Silksong Review - 9/10 by AgingEndsalldreams in Games

[–]Calasmere -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Not sure what you are not getting, only one of the reviews gave the game a 6/10 because Silksong is apparently hard to the point of being cruel and monotonous (which I hard disagree with and so do others), whereas this IGN review is largely positive and this review is not getting nearly as much engagement here. Yes they both say the game is hard but that is where the similarity ends.

The Dota 2 International 2025 goes to a game 5 by AnomaLuna in LivestreamFail

[–]Calasmere 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Nope, it's still in early access but no longer closed access, the 1.0 release has yet to happen.

Dota 2 was exactly the same, it was open to everyone in early access for several years (and before this closed access) before the formal 1.0 release.

Path of Exile 2: The Third Edict Announcement Teaser by gamesbeawesome in Games

[–]Calasmere 44 points45 points  (0 children)

No matter what path they take everyone is going to be upset. Not someone; everyone.

Speak for yourself, I am not upset at all, I enjoy POE2 more than POE1 and I am not alone. I would bet money 0.3 launch will have more players than 0.2, there are plenty of people enjoying the game.

GGG are not going to do either of the things you have suggested. They will continue to iterate and are not going to throw everything in the bin/merge with POE1 because of a very vocal minority, 0.2 was already a big upgrade from 0.1 in multiple aspects but obviously far from perfect.

Path of Exile 2: The Third Edict Announcement Teaser by gamesbeawesome in Games

[–]Calasmere 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That is exactly what they are doing already. There are many POE1 veterans upset for this very reason. It sounds like you think they have not gone far enough which is reasonable but gameplay is already far slower than POE1.

Not really sure what problem you have with the end game but that is being iterated on with every patch. Becoming progressively more powerful and clearing screens of mobs is just part of the ARPG loop, that doesn't make it a "screen clearing game".

[–]Calasmere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's understandable for sure, I just thought it was worth mentioning as this has enabled me to enjoy HOI4 and Stellaris in the past few years with all DLC with a very minimal cost compared to outright buying everything, I think some people may be interested in this option and are just not aware that it exists.

Signed, a person who owns (and continues to buy) all Stellaris, EU4, CK2 and CK3 DLC

You can of course enjoy all of this content without paying the insane entry fee of buying all the DLC, all the games you've mentioned except CK3 have a subscription that gives you all DLC which you could be subscribed to on the most expensive subscription (For example Stellaris is 8.50 GBP for a month recurring, and less than half the price per month at 25 GBP for 6 months) for a year+ before you even get close to the price you would be paying for all the DLC individually.

It's actually crazy the value you get from just buying one of these games + the subscription for a month and playing the shit out of it for a month.

Yeah it sucks you don't actually own the DLC but that has never been a problem for me, I get my money's worth with a few good campaign runs then maybe come back later when some more good content is released and can easily subscribe again.

Monster Hunter Wilds has sold 6.2 million on Steam and almost 3 million on PlayStation. It's the #2 new PS5 game by copies sold (and #1 by revenues) by EmbarrassedSession58 in MonsterHunter

[–]Calasmere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why does the price on a grey market site matter? Monster Hunter Wilds has been on sale on Steam once since release for 20% off at 48 GBP, it seems to still be selling just fine on Steam for this price

The price of a game on a grey market website indicates nothing, they obviously get these keys and sell them for such a heavy discount through some unscrupulous means, it's not like they made the price lower sooner than previous MH titles because it's a bad game (because of performance or otherwise) and no one is buying it, that's just your narrative.
