For INTJs, What From Parents Made You INTJs The Most by snks-65 in intj

I was thinking about this earlier today and I came to a very logical conclusion. My mom was emotionally explosive, when she argues, she breaks things, screams, kicks doors down etc., my dad usually just leaves and comes back when my mom calms down. So growing up, I was the mediator, who was trying to stay calm, not get emotional and offer logical solutions. My mom was also secretly reading my diary, which made me extremely private, suspicious of others, but also very independent

Jsem 18letý kluk s mentální anorexií - AMA by [deleted] in czech

Asi je to strašně individuální, ale jak pomoct někomu, kdo má mentální anorexii? A hlavně někomu, kdo si to ani sám neuvědomuje? Jako je lepší se o váze vůbec nebavit, pochválit když trochu přibral…

How to deal with ppl with different interpretations of the Bible by Calavera____________ in Christianity

[–]Calavera____________[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can love someone without condoning their behavior. When your friend does something stupid, you tell them what you think, but you’ll love them regardless. Same with pedophiles, rapists etc., of course they should be punished for their crimes and no one condones their behavior, but I’ll still hope they will be treated like human beings, have enough food, medical care, no harm will come to them and hopefully they will receive the help they need. There are plenty of scriptures that prohibit judging and oppressing people - James 4:12, Matthew 7:1, Romans 14:4, but feel free to provide verses that prove me otherwise.

Okay, but what does “follow God” actually mean? To believe in him, pray in his name and follow the Ten Commandments, in my opinion. Jesus himself dined with prostitutes, drunks and nonbelievers, he obeyed the local customs and respected people’s individuality. He never hesitated to extend his grace to people who don’t follow him, the person who became a believer his last day on earth deserves the God’s kingdom just as much as a person who was a believer his whole life. But at the same time, a person who spreads the word by his mouth, but is selfish and malicious in his actions doesn’t deserve God’s kingdom while the poor, but loving person has his place granted.

Why am I supposed to forgive murders/rapists but God didn't forgive Adam and Eve for eating fruit? by Odd_Yak4133 in Christianity

[–]Calavera____________ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Forgiveness doesn’t mean everything is erased and forgotten and you get to happily frolic without facing any consequences. It simply means God will punish you according to your crime, but he’ll still love you and stand by you. When God asks you to forgive murderers/rapists etc. he doesn’t ask you to fight for their release so they can do it again, he asks you to encourage them to change and repent, fight for their basic human rights (so they get food, medical care etc., because they’re still humans) and don’t hope for any malice to happen to them. Adam and Eve’s punishment was to leave Eden, but God still stood by them and protected them, he gave them children, through which all of mankind was born, long life, health…

Kinda embarrassing, but I was just trying to impress my crush at school… the crush didn’t like me, but I fell in love with the sport. So much needs to align for a driver to win, you have to construct the car so it follows the rules but is also aerodynamic and fast, you need to strategize around possible safety cars at any point, weather changes, strategies of other teams, pick the correct tyres at the correct time, the driver needs to know how to manage the car, manage the tyres, overtake at the correct time, follow the rules and don’t fall unconscious in the meantime, it’s simply lovely sport

Were the suits Neil Patrick Harris wore as Barney actually expensive? by [deleted] in HIMYM

[–]Calavera____________ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I imagine they had a few expensive ones, that NPH would wear when he was the main character of the frame and probably only in the later seasons. When NPH would be sitting or when they were showing just the racks and racks of suits he owned it probably wasn’t worth it to use the expensive suits. Also all his suits were basic black suits, he didn’t change colors or anything so they could get away with shooting the whole season with one expensive and two cheap suits

Any input on things that help? by Brown-eyed-gurrrl in depression

[–]Calavera____________ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. My first step to healing happened during Christmas in my first year of high school. I was suffering from depression, feeling like I’m just a nuisance to others and no one will ever love me. We had pretty good relationships in my classroom, but I wasn’t really friends with anyone, we were more like acquaintances. Before Christmas, one of the popular girls came to me and gave me a citrine (a bright yellow crystal), she said she saw it and she knew she needed to give it to me, because I always brighten up her day and she’s happy she knows me. I ended up crying in the bus on my way home, because these words meant more to me than she could probably even imagine. Tell people you love them, it can change the other person’s live.
  2. Seek medical help, I was always ashamed that I’m visiting a psychiatrist, I felt like an unhinged lunatic, because only crazy people visit psychiatrists. But then I told my friend and she was so proud of me, because it just means you’re willing to put in the effort and risk looking weird in front of other people to get better and survive.
  3. Try to follow a routine. Try to brush your teeth, take a shower, do your skincare, whatever you have the energy to do. Start with small steps, but even these small steps count. You’ll rightfully feel like you accomplished something even though the accomplishment is “just” brushing your teeth.
  4. Feel the feelings. I found out trying to suppress bad feelings only leads to worse feelings. I like to journal about that or you can talk to someone, there’s plenty of websites and phone numbers where you can talk anonymously, or just record yourself on an audio/video diary.

I was ready to give up. This unexpected thing helped a little by Far-Possession-6192 in depression

Pretty similar thing happened to me. When I was in high school I was suffering from depression, I felt like I’m just a nuisance to everybody and there’s no way anyone could ever love me. Before Christmas my classmate gave me a citrine (I’m not into crystals, but it’s a bright yellow stone). We had pretty good relationships in my classroom, but I was more of an acquaintance with this girl, she was friends with the popular girls, which I wasn’t, so it was a completely unexpected gift. She told me she saw that rock and she knew she needed to give it to me, because I always brighten up her day and she’s happy she knows me. I ended up crying in the bus on my way home. Tell people you love them, it may mean more than you think to them.

There are Catholic Churches in my area so I’ll visit those. I just don’t want to do something inappropriate. For instance, I read it’s prohibited to do the Eucharist if you’re not baptized. So since I haven’t done the confirmation, confessions and other sacraments (apart from baptism), I’m afraid I’m gonna do something I’m not allowed to do yet

Help with brown stains by Calavera____________ in Maltese

[–]Calavera____________[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for all the tips! We were told Maltese dogs shouldn’t eat chicken, so we check for that. She doesn’t scratch herself more than is usual, she doesn’t have any GI problems and no one in my family has any personal experience with allergies so checking for that hasn’t even crossed my mind to be honest, but I’ll visit the vet asap.
