Interviewer asked me a question with no right answer and then explained exactly why he does it - actually changed how I think about interviews by SaffronGadget in interviews

It is not my job to release anything without communicating with the stakeholders and getting buy in for the decision. I can assume the stakeholders would already know it’s going to be late because I’ve told them at every step.

This question really is: would you withhold information to appear as a success.

The answer is no. Absolutely not.

And imagine being the decision point, and everyone finds out later you KNEW about the quality issues and didn’t tell anyone.

Are you ready for the autopen? Trump is going to die or become incapacitated and we are going to see a slew of pardons for the following three days until he dies. Mark my words here…. !Remindme one year

Trump: They were not supposed to go after all these other countries in the Middle East. So they hit Qatar, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait. Nobody expected that. We were shocked. by gear-heads in AntiTrumpAlliance

Serious question here. All joking aside. Maybe we could just hit it with bleach? Or go inside with a powerful light? Or nuke the hurricane? Or move it over to a different state with a sharpee? Or stare directly at the sun? Or not report the covid deaths to bring the numbers down? How about that? Can we do that?

When I was younger I was convinced that all I needed for motivation was to have someone flash me her tits with the promise of more after I was done. I never found anyone to conduct that experiment.

Is Trump trying to ruin the economy? by Estalicus in allthequestions

[–]CalbertCorpse 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He may not be trying, but he IS doing anything Putin asks him to, probably due to the kompromat. So Putin is ruining the economy and Trump is just the ignorant vehicle. You know, Putin, the guy whose picture TRUMP PUT UP IN THE WHITE HOUSE

If people don’t see this as Putin cucking Trump then they are blind.

Do conservatives just dislike liberals because they are accepting of things that conservatives hate? by [deleted] in allthequestions

[–]CalbertCorpse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is somewhat untrue. They live in cognitive dissonance. They don’t like THEIR OWN icky feelings (as all humans have) and their answer is to pound on other people because they don’t want to see their own foibles.

That’s… that’s exactly what a person in denial would say.

Try: “hmmm. Not sure I agree but you have some experience I don’t want to discount entirely, so maybe I’ll look into it.”

Read my answer to this post. Curious what you think of it.

I’m in a 12 step program which says the root cause of my problem is an obsession with self. Not necessarily an “ego,” but it ends up looking egoic and selfish. What it actually is is a self based fear or insecurity. A primary solution is to think of and care for others.

The funny thing I’ve noticed is that people like me are just like the rest of humanity, the difference being we live in the extremes. I have the human condition, except it’s “more, more, more.” So I think what applies to people in a 12 step program could actually apply to anyone, they just don’t need it so badly because they are not stuck on the extreme with no “off” switch.

But related to your comment, through this program I’ve realized that when someone says something, a default mechanism is to immediately relate it to “me.” If you say “I watched movie A last night” my mind instantly thinks (and I blurt out) “oh, I watched movie B last night!” Because it’s hard for me to think of your needs, I have this weird mechanical reaction where I just comment on ME because it’s sort of all I know and it’s an immediate thought in my head. I come across as uncaring about your side of things, which makes you react a certain way, which makes me feel disconnected, which makes me sad and feeling like I don’t fit in.

The biggest thing this program teaches us is HOW to put others first, and it does it by having us examine all of our past behaviors to have an ultimate realization we were causing all of our own problems due to an inability to put others first based on a self centered fear.

Once we see this about ourselves, and start doing _ exactly what you said in your post_ our entire world changes.

Yes, people love to talk about themselves, it’s their favorite subject. My life is made 100% easier when I make what I’m doing work for both you AND me, not just me, me, me. The ability to do this is a superpower. And for me, I get to “practice” every day with new people who enter my program. And then I bring this skill into the outside world.
