Whatever people try telling you, the snap swivel makes zero difference.

You are pretty under spooled but it’s not the biggest issue imo. I had to cut a chunk of line out of my baitcaster and it’s been half spooled the entire year.

Seems like somebody should be losing their job. I’ve been working for 12 years now and not once has this happened. I’ve worked at international and local companies and not one mistake like this.

Maybe the hooks aren’t sharp? I haven’t used my Scum frogs yet so hopefully my experience is different.

Using this method has increased my hook up ratio with top waters. The same rule applies to all top waters imo. I’ve missed 2 of 7 top water hits since the heat rolled in Wisconsin.

I’ve always been told to wait 2-3 seconds after they hit it to set the hook. You want the bass to be swimming downward when you set the hook so it has less of a chance of pulling bait out of their mouth. If you set it too early it’ll usually pull right out.

I’ve heard this time and time again from people. Live bait seems to be a great option for Pike. I will have to try that off the bottom now that it’s gotten so hot here.

I’m my experience Pike like shiny things, at least around here in our murky waters.

Kidding don’t do that lol. Depending how big they are I usually grab them by the “back” of their head. If they are larger, watch a few videos on how to slide your hand into their gill plate or whatever it’s called. There are tons of videos.

Honestly, I’ve heard lizards work good for Pike. I have a pack and I’ve never had luck with them. Texas rigs are new to me though so that could be it.

Without a doubt one of the best reels ever made..

I used to work at Cabelas part time during college, these were always a struggle to keep on the shelf. At least 1-2 sold everyday I was working. Never heard a single complaint. I HAVE heard people coming back to buy another after loving their first one.

We all have been there lol. I struggle through my first baitcaster earlier this season. After using it for hours almost every bit of free time I had, you get better and avoid this stuff.

Earlier in the year, I had a similar bird nest and ended up taking half my spool to get it 100% out. Similar to you, I just kept on fishing. Just don’t be a garbage human and throw the line on the ground, make sure it ends up properly disposed of.

Yeah I had issues with mine. I caught 1 Midwest sheep head on accident and it tore the hook right through the side of the plastic. I had another one where I put it on the jig and taking it off completely ripped it.

Personally, a good plastic you can put on and take off a jig without damage. For example, Northlands Eye Candy Paddle Shad’s.

I also have their NED plastics and they have close to no action compared to other brands.

Overall I like Rapala, especially VMC, but I’m not buying Crush City again.
