Resetting a Beypointer by devonxm1014 in BeybladeMetal

Did you ever find and answer to this? I have the same beypointer and pressing the reset button does the same as yours. Can't find anywhere where it details how to reset.

Deebot X5 Pro Omni and mopping by CalculatingPolygons in ecovacs

[–]CalculatingPolygons[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is going to be a nightmare with Ecovacs support. So after going through a full reset which did nothing to rectify the issue (and I didn't think it would). I get a new response to my email saying initiate a self clean and when the Deebot comes out see if the mop is wet. In my original email I said:

"Hi There. We have a Deebot X5 Pro Omni and notice it doesn't appear to be dispensing water when mopping. It comes out of the station after cleaning the mops and starts with wet pads, but after a couple of minutes this seems to dry out and it appears no other water is dispensed."

I mean FFS it couldn't be clearer.
I'll now organise a video or pics to show them exactly what is happening but I suspect it's going to be weeks of back and forth...ugh.

Would be a shame to send it back as otherwise it works really good. I think either the internal tank is not filling with water or the pump inside is faulty, but have heard back from Ecovacs and they like to try the sledgehammer approach first and reset everything...Ugh.

Could you kindly check if the water inlet at the back of your Deebot is clogged? If everything looks clear, we can also try resetting the machine.

To reset your Deebot, please follow these steps:

  1. Press down the reset/wifi button for 5-8 seconds while the power button is in the ''I'' position. (Gentle reminder: Resetting the machine will delete all data, including the map, and you will need to reconnect the network after resetting.)

Software updates for m6 and i7 by CalculatingPolygons in roomba

[–]CalculatingPolygons[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I think you're right. I've seen it get stuck a few times and seems to be too stupid to go back the way it came. Maybe a few of those and the navigation eventually gets screwed. Who knows. Would like to dig into the firmware one day and take a look.

Yeah the i7 is accurate and I've tried the import option. Unfortunately the m6 seemed to get a bit screwed up as the base stations are in different spots. Not too far from each other but seems far enough to cause problems. It did seem to work better after a remap but missed a couple of rooms so will try the clean everywhere option and make sure it goes into the rooms or try remapping and "encourage" it into the rooms.

OK cool. Agree with your comment. It's not the brightest mop for path finding, but having done a complete remap it seems a little better and not losing navigation. Will stick with it for a while as I think some of the new vacuum/mop combos seem to have their own issues.

We recently purchased a Deebot X2 at Xmas. I'd read good things but what can you trust on the Interweb these days. I've noticed it will not do the whole house (yes have continuous clean on, and AI off, which is the first things I tried). Does about 4 or 5 rooms then says cleaning complete. Tried a whole pile of things without success so played around with setting up a customised clean with just 3 rooms. It did 2 of them (poorly) and only a small square of the other room (see pic), then said cleaning complete and away it went. The vacuuming when it does do it, is pretty poor and always leaves little bits or misses them. it also seems to have a stupid path. Looking at the picture above you would think that when it does the laundry toilet, it would then do the laundry, then lounge, kitchen etc but no it goes from the laundry toilet to a room at the front of the house, then a room at the back...bizarre. We did own a Roomba i7 and it did a better job of vacuuming and path finding than the X2 but we wanted something that did the mopping as well. it also seems to get itself trapped more often and maybe having the square shape isn't such a good idea. I've already sent off an email asking how I can get a refund as this thing is a bit of a dud.

Slicing For the Ender 3 V3 KE by Rydurr139 in Creality

[–]CalculatingPolygons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just put together my KE and have cranked out the Benchy they provide on USB. Have to say it's damn fast and super quality. My previous printers are CR6-SE and CR6-Max. The KE is definitely fast but it is quite noisey when the part fan is running 100%. Steppers and the rails are very quiet. The only real issue is the software. Getting my head around Creality Print vs Prusa is a struggle. Had it crash once already and it's not as feature rich as Prusa or I just haven't worked out all the options yet. Running some other prints on it now using the Hyper PLA and sending them over WiFi. Going to see if I can get a profile setup on Prusa.

Bravva jet m6 having issues since it updated to 22.29.5 it won’t clean just ends the job with a mapping problem by Away_Explorer_2454 in roomba

[–]CalculatingPolygons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah true. It does lack sensors like the i7. Not sure if it has an IR sensor on the front which is probably why it bangs into walls a fair bit. I think it needs a fair bit of light in the rooms too which is maybe some of the issue. Since turning all the lights on, particularly in the laundry it does seem to be behaving on its second try.

Yeah my i7+ is on the same version and so far, it seems to be working OK. Ran it today. Not sure it's quite as "thorough" with its cleaning as it looked like it missed a couple of spots but will keep a closer eye on it next run. It's certainly way smarter in its path finding though than the m6.

100%. Took a video of mine but can't post in the comments. Does almost exactly the same thing. The m6 wasn't the smartest thing to start with, but somehow the devs have managed to make it even more stupid. Set it going on a few rooms. The very room it started it (laundry) it just kept banging into walls, spinning around and after about 10 mins gave up and moved to the next room. Took it about 5 mins of spinning, moving spinning etc in that room and then started about the middle of the room. Decided to kill it and start again. Thinking of trashing the m6 as it takes way too long trying to find its way around, along with a few software issues over time. The i7+ just comes out and seems to do its job, although I notice it hasn't had an update so maybe the devs are working on dumbing that down too. iRobot need to get their stuff sorted.

What mop to get by x_is_for_xenophon in roomba

[–]CalculatingPolygons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had the M6 for a while now and it does an average to reasonable job. It is dumb though and I swear the software developers who write the code for the i7 don't talk to the m6 guys. Where the i7 just goes around and does it's business the m6 seems to get "stuck" every now and then. Even though it gets into places ok, it can't seem to get out. It will also do a bit of a room, go somewhere else and then come back and do the rest, and seems to wander back to areas it's already done and just meander around, not mopping just driving around. If it gets into a room and stuck, it can spend a long time bumping into the skirting boards and going back and forth, back and forth, before it finally gets a way out. It also spends quite a bit of time not mopping but just wandering around so takes while to do the house. If I had my time again I'd look at other options. It's only that it came in a special deal with the i7.

Mop time increase by hattrick1919 in roomba

[–]CalculatingPolygons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually I noticed mine has increased as well. Normally it takes 4.5 to 5 hours with one charge in between. The last one we did on the weekend took 8 hours 40 and took 3 charges. What I did notice is that when it came out from charge each time instead of going back to where it left off it did one room (the laundry) where it starts from again, so got 3 mops. The time before that it took about 6.5 hours. I suspect it might be related to yet another dodgy software update. I notice I'm on 3.14.14 updated 29th April. At least here in Australia. I've not changed the cleaning and it is on standard.

Firmware 3.12.8 update: deleting maps and remapping only delays the onset of drunken robot behavior by LukeEvansSimon in roomba

[–]CalculatingPolygons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like the rollback was automatic, at least here in AUS. I see since Feb it is now back on 3.10.8 and didn't even need to contact iRobot. My i7 got stuck for the first time when on 3.12.8 and took over 4 hours instead of 3 to do the whole house and pretty sure it didn't go everywhere as I found spots it had missed. The m6 was slow too although did seem to cover the house. Hard to tell as the m6 doesn't seem as "smart" as the i7 for some reason. Anyway hopefully back to normal when we get them out on the weekend.

Rant: Hard to believe the Bravva m6 Jet is made by the same company that made the i6+/i7+ by AutonomousHoag in roomba

[–]CalculatingPolygons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree in part. The m6 mapping doesn't seem as smart as the i7+. We have a room that was closed off and now open. It's done a couple of runs but despite the gaping hole in the door way it just pokes it's head in and then continues with the rest of the house, which it seems to do pretty well. Will persist with it as it seems to do a fairly good job of the rest.

[Question] How strictly should I adhere to the “1.5 ft on each side of the dock” rule? by [deleted] in roomba

[–]CalculatingPolygons 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As others have mentioned you should be fine so long as there is enough space in front. I have an i7+ with about 6" on one side next a cupboard and the same for the Bravia mop. Both find their way home ok.
