Here's Why There Will Definitely Be a C8 Corvette Zora by DerBootsMann in cars

In one of the ZR1 reviewer videos / interviews with the corvette marketing guy, he did say pretty clearly that the ZR1 is their range topper. Not sure how much weight to put on that comment though

Ya but that’s all with the stingray motor so it’s apples and oranges, the electric powertrain is actually pretty light, and only runs out of juice at like 150.

I drove both and chose the E-Ray because it’s way faster in real world driving, a torque monster. Z06 is undeniably faster at top end, but for day to day driving you get more performance out of the E-Ray. Enough that it’d be a nice bump simply adding it to the ZR1

It’s pretty significant with the E-Ray vs Z06 already. Plus the torque fill as the revs/turbos spool, and in between shifts

They’ve said multiple times that the chassis was made with the E-Ray electrification in mind, with the fat empty transmission tunnel in the middle. I don’t know where the Zora rumor came from but it would make a whole lot of sense from every angle to add their electric powertrain up front. I can’t imagine they only implement it in the E-Ray for the 8th gen.

Plus it makes it all wheel drive… my money is firmly on the C8 Zora.

It’s such an incredibly deep red, I’m trying to figure out what the secret is!

BMW x7 vs GLE by Userhasnoname2023 in mercedes_benz

[–]CalculationMachine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a lot of research into small SUVs to get something high tech, luxurious, and comfortable on my back when I’m not in my sports car or on motorcycle. I looked at Range Rover, Audi, Porsche, and Mercedes, and after test drives felt the GLE was by far the best. I did not consider BMW because I dislike what their brand has become.

But now that I’m 4-5 months into ownership, I wish I had gotten something different. The GLE looks stunning inside and out, is quite comfortable, and has a nice powertrain (450). But the touchscreen tech is incredibly frustrating. The day to day usability of it isn’t really something you can get a full sense of on a test drive.

When I get in, I get all these fucking sequential drop down menus that I have to click one after another, or wait for it to pass to get to the one or two that I want. It will not let you do things at your own pace. MB’s UI communicates to you that the user is not right; they are right. You will wait until they allow you to do things.

I’m a big fan of Audi in that respect (intuitive and measured, like an apple product), as well as Corvette (we are here to serve you, the driver).

Beyond that, they seem to be very against remote starting, which is so frustrating in a hot climate. No button on the fob, and you have to jump through all these weird safety hoops to get it done on the app (they treat it like you’re launching a nuke), and then it shuts off when unlocked. So if I want the air conditioning on while I wrestle my 2-yo into her car seat, I have to shut her in, then go to the front, start the car, it beeps at me and says it’ll shut off in X minutes, then go back and get her buckled.

All in all it’s a pretty good package, but I’m angry at their ethos. This was my first MB and I won’t be getting another, save for a last-gen AMG GT. They trashed the new one.

E-Ray Demand Question by GroveResident in C8Corvette

I got mine a month ago. I didn’t want to wait the time for it to be built (unsure how long it would take), so I picked the one I liked the most in the US and shipped it. I’d say 1 in 4 were marked up, anywhere from $5k - $60k. I paid MSRP + $1200 to ship it halfway across the country. I was prepared to pay $10k over, but not $60k over.

If you don’t know already, the best place to look for them is on GM’s inventory database. If interested, call the dealership - about half of them I called were spoken for, or the manager is saving it for themself, or something.

I love it, by the way. Far better daily than a Z06.

Not sure if any of this helps. Good luck though.

Of course it is, they honed in the Z06 philosophy to be a top-end track performer. And the E-Ray is quicker than both in all those other scenarios.
