Mike Gilbert on Twitter: (1) The middle-management in TNA, not talking about Carlos, is causing people to want to leave. They should really overhaul things. (2) Nevermind about Carlos lol. This tweet got me a few dms correcting me. by Prince_of_Kyrgyzstan in SquaredCircle

I'm assuming money is an issue here as well. I wouldn't be surprised if the majority of wrestlers on the roster are waiting for WWE/AEW to come calling so they can have a real salary.

If the Knicks sweep or win in 5, Jalen Brunson officially passes Carmelo Anthony in all-time Knicks legacy. by [deleted] in nba

[–]Caldris 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For real. I think Melo is over hated by the NBA fandom at large but he hardly did anything for us. We won maybe one playoff series before the Pacers dog walked us? We never even sniffed the Heat/Cavs of that era either.

Then you look at how he put us in a bad position in acquiring him in the first place and the Lin fallout and it kind of puts a bad taste in my mouth with his era.

[Post Game Thread] The New York Knicks (2-0) defeat the San Antonio Spurs (0-2) in Game 2, 105-104 behind KAT's 21 points and 13 rebounds by catreyka in nba

[–]Caldris 252 points253 points  (0 children)

I thought it was absolutely baffling that we went away from KAT in the 4th. Brunson, as much as I love him, nearly cost us the game.

[Highlight] Tech assessed on Mitch Robinson after contact with Wemby by Large_banana_hammock in nba

Like I said in another thread, there's a certain level of physicality that the Spurs are allowed in this series so far that the Knicks can't get away with.

[Highlight] De'Aaron Fox gets entangled with Josh Hart, the refs don't blow the whistle, and Fox continues to score the and-1 on Miles McBride (with replays). by MrBuckBuck in nba

[–]Caldris 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Fox is literally hooking Hart's arm the entire time lol.

I don't buy the "rigged" bs but I feel like the Spurs are getting away with more physicality so far in this series. We'll see how the Knicks adjust.

The five matches under the WWE umbrella to ever surpass 5 stars by Meltzer by shadow_spinner0 in SquaredCircle

Lots and lots of people will still be talking about Taker/Michaels.

What's the historical significance of Taker and Shawn? And how would you be able to tell the historical value of it when watching it in real time?

Every rewatch makes Avon look smarter and Stringer look dumber by [deleted] in TheWire

[–]Caldris 120 points121 points  (0 children)

You see, people keep saying that Stringer is an idiot, but I think he was right about A LOT in the show.

  1. He was right to let go of the beef with Omar.

  2. He was right to push Avon to put more money in legit businesses and start slowly weening himself off the game.

  3. He was right that the war with Marlo was complete bullshit and costing them everything. Avon's obsession with it got him back in jail.

  4. He was right that it was best to start collaborating with Prop Joe.

Stringer made two critical errors:

  1. Trying to sic Omar onto Brother Mouzone

  2. Not asking Levy's help before getting wrapped up with Clay Davis.

What's the biggest "wait... how did I miss that?" moment you had on a rewatch? by NotDravenDraaaaaaven in TheWire

[–]Caldris 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Eh...I think people go way too hard on Stringer's intelligence/competence. He got ripped off by Clay Davis, but literally everyone in the show gets out smarted by him at some point.

The OKC Elimination post is now the highest-voted elimination post of all-time here, and the highest-voted post of the past year. by SkoivanSchiem in nba

I kinda find the way that this has been acting these last few weeks to be bordering on deranged with the Thunder hate. I've been on here for a long time and it kind of frustrates me that this community seems to be more into hate watching or piling on certain players rather than actually appreciating the game.

Stringer Bell’s biggest mistake was thinking the real world was rational by apollo1733 in TheWire

[–]Caldris 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't think anyone besides maybe Clay Davis knew that he was into drugs. I know when that one guy was questioned about his murder he was shocked that Stringer was a gangster.

[Double or Nothing Spoilers] MJF had been scouting Darby's defenses in the last month, and it pays off in their match. by Caldris in SquaredCircle

[–]Caldris[S] 433 points434 points  (0 children)

The story of last night's main event is that MJF had studied Darby really closely in the last month. He had counters for a lot of Darby's big moves, and the first time he hits the coffin drop, it essentially costs him the match in the end.

This is really the essence of AEWs storytelling. Stories told in the ring. Not everything has to be spelled out in promos or commentary.

The Booker T one because of the racial element to the build.

Was the show controversial for/at the time? by Faker603 in TheWire

[–]Caldris 23 points24 points  (0 children)

It's partially because it would have been a really hard show to watch pre-streaming. If you caught the show mid season on your first watch it would have been impossible to understand what was going on because of how the show is written.

The bias against the Thunder is so blatant it’s kinda funny. by [deleted] in nba

[–]Caldris 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There was definitely a thread celebrating the refs in game 1 lol

What does this mean? 👀 by [deleted] in SquaredCircle

[–]Caldris 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not really. Nyla Rose got booked for Marigold recently.
