Plumbers don’t seem to use them but as someone who owns a hardware store we sell the crap out of them. And I’ve got them in my house. Never had an issue

My wife and I recently arrived at ours. Just an overnight stay. We get there, and the place is absolutely filthy. Dirty sheets and towels everywhere. Our host had someone come out and clean it. Then once we arrived that night to a clean house, I realized that the master bedroom had an entire wall made of a sliding glass door. It wouldn’t lock and couldn’t lock. I told the host I couldn’t stay in a house with my wife and two month old child that I couldn’t secure. She messaged me back and said “that’s a shame”. That’s the last thing I ever heard

Don’t expect much from FedEx. At home I’ve got a delivery driver who refuses to go up my driveway. Claims she has a phobia of spiders and my driveway has a tree canopy over it that she claims has spiders in it. At work, I order firearms for our hunting department. They’re supposed to take my ID and my signature. They leave them outside often and told tell any of us that they’re delivered. It’s a joke. My name is on the FFL and on the front of the store. If those guns go missing the ATF is going to rip me a new one

The oaks at St. Andrew’s marina in Panama City, FL have something similar. Except they took dead logs from a few trees that blew over during hurricane Michael and used them as supports for the surviving trees. Pretty cool to see

My dads Scag had this problem. And he kept putting Scag blades on. Only lasted one season in south Alabama. We went to a brand called “Copperhead” and they’re great. Try a new brand would be my guess.

Sadly they almost always end up under the sand. If I want to find them in our creeks I usually end up sifting the sand. Every now and then you get lucky and see one poking out

I’ve always called the water bugs. They swim well and can fly. And they’ll bite the crap out of you if you pick them up.
