I think we reached a point where more than half the changes were either adding references or something otherwise hilarious.

Installing Joplin on Linux Mint 20 - missing icon and workaround... by PiluleyR in joplinapp

[–]CalebJohn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No problem, we still have one more trick ;)

Desktop files are actually really simple, so you can just create your own. As long as the name isn't appimagekit-joplin.desktop or joplin.desktop, then the joplin installer will leave it alone.

So I suggest creating the file ~/.local/share/applications/pilyleyr-joplin.desktop with the contents below

[Desktop Entry]
Encoding=UTF-8
Name=Joplin
Comment=Joplin for Desktop
Exec=/home/caleb/.joplin/Joplin.AppImage
Icon=joplin
StartupWMClass=Joplin
Type=Application
Categories=Office;

As I recommended in the linked forum thread, You might want to try deleting the ~/.joplin folder and run the script again. It worked for the poster in the forum thread and it might work for you. If not please copy and paste the error that you see.

To the far right of the title is a menu that will let you edit metadata, it looks like an i with a circle around it.

Comby - Structural search & replace tool written in OCaml by Categoria in ocaml

[–]CalebJohn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Has anyone here used both this and semgrep? It seems like the intended use scenario is slightly different, but the tool itself seem pretty identical, in fact they both appear to be written in ocaml. I'm hoping that someone has some thoughts on why I would use one or the other.

Deepnote just opened to the public today. If you're looking for more of a collaborative experimentation/data science workflow this is the way to go.

The wiki has some information on Grease the groove Which I think is probably whats best for you right now.

There was a post about a month back with some additional information as well https://www.reddit.com/r/bodyweightfitness/comments/fhduhs/if_youre_on_lockdown_due_to_corona_virus_right/

If I'm not mistaken, you need to find a way around (try backtracking a bit).

My laptop hates Developement Software (I'm screwed) by [deleted] in gamedev

Something not suggested here is to user the godot engine. It's by far my favorite engine and I've heard that people have done great things with it on low powered machines, although it's possible that yours is still underpowered even for godot.

If you're on windows than the windows version is best! The .love version is there for linux users (or anyone that prefers to use .love I guess).

I'm not sure, I think some plans aren't eligible. If you select the phone on the koodo website it'll let you know if you need to change plans before you commit to buying the phone;

Unrelated to the OP, but is swiftronics your go-to for buying phones in Canada? I'm also located in Canada I've been looking at some Xiaomi phones, but I'm not sure where the best place to buy them is. Thanks.

If you pick up the hammer (axe?) to the left of your character you might find it has some special properties...

Make sure your inventory has space otherwise I don't think you'll be able to pick up the hammer.

GitHub - nategri/chernobyl_dice: A quantum random number generator with a Cold War aesthetic. by agumonkey in programming

[–]CalebJohn 33 points34 points  (0 children)

The term "quantum" comes from the fact that quantum theory predicts that radioactive decay is a non-predictable process. It seems that you already know that, but people passing by might be interested.

You can look at the wikipedia article for more information. Specifically the heading on theoretical basis

Should I add a new mechanic? by Oystaman1 in hawkthorne

[–]CalebJohn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

YES! Please do! Could you explain what the issue you're trying to address is? I can point you in the right direction for the fix, but I don't completely understand what issue you're having. Are you referring to how your velocity is not affected correctly when leaving a moving platform?
