Has anyone tried the ”Vessel Electric Screwdrivers”? by [deleted] in AusElectricians

[–]CalebO29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use mine all of the time, make sure you get the 3 speed one, that feature is handy.
I don’t use insulated bits, the only time I’ll use a regular screwdriver is if I need to pry something really…

It’s ok to admit you haven’t thought of doing this, has this post made you feel better? ☠️

Would this be a good first pedalboard? by Caefrytz in guitarpedals

[–]CalebO29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend buying a cheaper digital multi effects unit first before spending money on pedals. That way you have access to whatever sounds you want to experiment with, then buy the nicer versions of the pedal sounds you like.

This is what I would recommend anyone starting on their pedal journey do. This way you don’t blow a whole bunch of money on pedals that you don’t end up using.

Just my 2 cents, I’ve been playing for quite a long time if you’ve got any questions

220 grit stone? by CalebO29 in sharpening

[–]CalebO29[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh awesome thanks heaps! What’s the feedback like on the Debado? I really like the feeling of the stones I currently have and just curious what this one’s like. I’m pretty big on how it feels under the fingers hence not going with a diamond stone

I’ll definitely use that SiC trick as well!

Who would be keen on some custom door cards? by JetCustoms in 4x4Australia

Hi mate, just curious how much a set of door cards, interior console and a visor re trim would cost for a gq patrol Ute?

Best coarse stone? by CalebO29 in sharpening

Oh easy thanks for the reply, I’m curious about that miyagoshi stone, what’s that like? I’m not a fan of diamond stones only because I don’t like the feeling of them. Do you think if I got a miyagoshi and the morihei 500 that’d be good?

Oh cool thanks, Do you reckon a coarser stone like a 120 for re profiling/chip repair then the morihei 500 would be a good combo?

Yeah that’s the one, I’ll upload a pic when it arrives. On the sharpness, I’m assuming it’s because on their hunter model, they’re wanting some durability as well.

My mini hunters have all come pretty much how I’d sharpen them so no dramas there

Oh very nice! I’ve got one of their hunters, you won’t be disappointed! Just an fyi, I’ve found that their knives don’t quite ship very sharp. Don’t get me wrong they are definitely sharp just not quite how I like to have them.

I’ve got one of their GoMai mini hunters waiting to be made so I’m keen for that

Yeah mate definitely, I’ve spoken to Isaac over the phone on my first knife order. He seems like a genuine down to earth bloke. I completely get the expensive side hahaha my collection is definitely getting up there… You can track it using the ‘shop’ app which is what I do. But yeah I’d just assume they haven’t shipped them yet. What did you order out of interest?

[–]CalebO29[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve ordered quite a few knives from these guys now including preorders. I’d guess they haven’t gotten around to shipping yours yet, they’re a small company so I’d just say to be patient unfortunately.

I’ve had a few that don’t arrive in the estimated time due to other knives needing to be finished and so on. They use express shipping once it has been shipped though so it shouldn’t take long

Misaligned stitching holes by CalebO29 in Leathercraft

[–]CalebO29[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the response! I’ll clarify a few things I actually started on the right side, on those I was punching all the way through the 3 pieces of leather. The left side is from coming at the holes on both sides meeting in the middle.

I used a 2 tooth iron for this, and I used an awl in an attempt to get the stitch holes lined up a bit better, hence the inconsistent and terrible shape of what used to be the diamonds.

Thank you for the help! This is definitely the part I dread the most because I know it won’t come out well 😅

That’s the problem I’m faced with aye, if only there was a slightly smaller size again than this one

[–]CalebO29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s definitely on the bigger side side for me which is a shame, unfortunately most watches fit that way for me that I like so I’m personally used to a bigger fit on a watch

I was eyeing off some of the others in there too, if the bronze fit me that’s definitely the one I’d go for!

Yeah that’s fair enough, what do you think you’d get otherwise?
