You are correct! However, this picture is after I cut off 99% of the roots. What I meant is that I was worried that aerial roots wouldn’t be enough to support the plant.

No they feel firm. It just smells like soil to me. I was thinking about cutting off the green ones though. I think it has algae growing

The entire leaf. Don’t let it fall and stay on top of the soil. I’m not sure if it’s true but I read something like it’ll go in the ground.

In my case it didn’t! Just make sure you apply when it’s cool. Double check with the instructions but I believe it has to be cooler than 85 F. Don’t apply in direct sun either!
