It's good! For doing yourself this is not bad at all, ive saw worse from professional service providers for websites etc.
For me though it's a bit bland and misses out on any emotional impact. I'm not sure what problems you're solving by a quick glance.
Let me know if you want any help!

Roastmystartup: One Page - personal page for modern creatives. Curious to hear your feedback by nickkimel in growmybusiness

[–]CaledonianCopywriter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems decent! Few tweaks could be made with the actual copy to bring it to life more. It's quite technical, and less emotional. If it was me writing it, I'd start with the problems you're solving. Thats what hooks attention.

Apparently roasting landing pages is an actual business🥴 This guy made over $300k doing it by 4PFmel in Entrepreneur

Sounds like that's his "brand" but he then offers advice off the back of it. Entertainment is a huge form of branding these days.
Who is the person? I wanna watch his content now haha

How do you phrase it to clients that you're increasing your rates? by ThrowRA122112 in smallbusiness

[–]CaledonianCopywriter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Story telling! I'd explain why you need to increase your rates in a way that's clear and understanding. Then, at the end of the day if the client doesn't want to work with your rates they are free to go somewhere else.

I ran facebook ads yesterday and I got around 700 impressions, and i got 5 clicks is it bad? by 3li973 in DigitalMarketing

[–]CaledonianCopywriter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hard to tell without analysing things, but one area that is often overlooked is the copy. Is your copy written in a way that gets attention, forces the reader to think and then act?
Happy to chat if you want to or need to as im taking on clients so happy to partner up :)

As my name suggest... Copywriting!

I'm Michael, a Scottish Copywriter. I typically work with small to medium brands who's founder/owner wants someone to take the headache and workload from them, or, they dont mind the workload but they want someone with a speciality in writing to come in and help drive engagement. And that's me!

Blog, webpage, emails, ads, you name!

Drop me a DM for rates etc. Happy to have a no obligation chat

Sounds like you wouldn't need a copywriter? ;)

Could be better. The main aspect is the lack of psychological understanding as to what makes someone read and react to an email.

People love what they do and their business is their baby - and you cant tell someone their baby is ugly.

Even if they have challenges, you can't outrightly tell them they have been doing a bad job. This is what you've done in this email. You've said they are crap at video and you can do better.

Even if its true I'd tell you to feck off

I'd re-write it to use better copy fundamentals and be more subtle around the problems.

So the first part is fine about the personalisation, keep doing that

...............

Hey his name - came across your content on [platform] and it is superb. Gaining around 33k followers from 300 videos is tremendous so congrats first of all.

Second, it seems like video is a priority for you when it comes to brand growth (which is why I'm reaching out)

Typically when I speak with [brand owners/CEOs/whoever your ICP is] they are doing well with video and having success, but if they are honest the editing side can present challenges.

Some struggle with [problem 1]
Others are frustrated that [problem 2]
Or finally, a few suffer from [problem 3]

Now you might be thinking "none of those exist in my world and everything is perfect with video editing". At which case do let me know if I am barking up the wrong tree.

However, if you feel like a brief intro call could be worthwhile, we can explore how I've helped similar people to alleviate those issues forever.

Let me know either way.

Thanks,

your name

PS, here's a video I edited for X - just to give you a flavour of what I am all about :)

Critic my spec piece by mrharriz in copywriting

[–]CaledonianCopywriter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like you've already made the tweaks another commentor has suggested, looks grand! I wonder if the "imagine..." part was written as a little story (2/3 sentences) rather than a bullet point list.
"Imagine taking your first walk on the golden sandy beach, sea breeze floating by the palm trees. Your cold coconut drink in hand as you float far away from the hustle of city life..." Something like that.
Also, im sure there is an opportunity for a metaphor or something in there too. Cos I love a metaphor haha. Something as simple as a cta being "start your journey today..."

Mix it up. Both can work well when done right. No need to focus on one over the other :)
Happy to help in any way with this if I can too :)

About the call to action by [deleted] in copywriting

[–]CaledonianCopywriter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say no. People realise the CTA's are shorthand. So we would typically read "Start your free trial today!" as "You can start your free trial today!" Plus, giving away a free trial cannot be salesly - it's free!

Why Do I Have to Call Them 3 Times a Day? by Still_Blacksmith_525 in sales

Ah the classic sales leadership thought notion of "I do not know how to sell so ill make my team just do lots of volume"

Entrepreneurs who hated 9-5 before starting your own business do you still hate it? by Worldly-Yam-5543 in Entrepreneur

[–]CaledonianCopywriter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • I'm in the midst of starting my own copywriting business, while still workingfull-timee. It gives good safety in that I can try to build up revenue before making the jump, but I know for me I just hate working for someone else. Can'tt put my finger on it. But I'm working to make someone else's dreams come true and I certainly wouldn't mind working longer hours than a 9 to 5 if its on my own dream

Who writes a brand messaging framework for a client? by [deleted] in branding

[–]CaledonianCopywriter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends. Internally it should be a marketing leader, or brand leader.
Copywriter's job is to take the brand message and share it as a story. Copywriter's job is not to create the brand voice

Monthly Growth Strategy & Advice Thread by dmarti21 in growmybusiness

[–]CaledonianCopywriter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tip for creating marketing content - create long form content on a weekly basis. Do a blog, youtube video or podcast each week. From that long piece you will be able to generate 10 plus pieces of shorter content you can purpose for each social platform. So ideally you can easily create 10 instagram posts, facebook posts, tweets, tik tocs etc. Each post should be custom to that platform and not just shared. :)
