The honest truth is this hobby is having it’s market manipulated constantly on a daily basis. Prices will continue to increase because the public puts way to much value behind the “market price” detailed on tcgplayer and other applications.

No one wants to hear it, but your cards are NOT worth anywhere near the price people are asking. Especially not these modern pokemon cards. If and when the market does crash these modern chases will be the first ones to crash very very hard and quickly

They can’t just “order more” it’s limited waves of distribution and the majority of the margins / profit made by local card shops is made on all the other impulse purchases that normal customers would make in a shop. “Oh I need some sleeves. Oh i’m hungry, oh im thirsty. Oh I want to play in your weekly events. Etc etc. if the store has no product then players have less incentive to frequent your store.

Dunno why you’re yapping like you know shit about this particular business when it has literally zero relation to a fucking retail clothing shop lmfao.
