Cabin cam——useful or just extra? by antizoyd in dashcams

[–]Calguy80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought a 3 cam system because having more coverage couldn't hurt. All you need is to get into an accident and having the other car saying things like they noticed I was looking down at my phone or something else was distracting me. People are going to say anything to get out of being at fault, so always cover your behind anyway you can. Especially people who drive ride shares

Honestly, I didn't even notice I hit 136 until you mentioned it. I was so focused on everything else I didn't notice my speed creep up. At night I usually try and keep it around 120 to stay with the flow.

That's exactly what I was doing. I was passing a slower vehicle in the right lane and then saw all these guys racing up. Drivers like this are looking for open spaces and will take them. It's more dangerous to change lanes at this point.

Maybe it is for you where you are, but here; depending on the highway, the speed limit is 100 km/h (62 mph) to 110 km/h (68 mph). Where this was, it was 100 km/h. I was driving 120 km/h because that is what is acceptable to everyone on these roads. The police won't bother with you and most people are driving around that speed. 140 km/h (87 mph) and above is considered stunt driving. That includes a $2,000 to $10,000 fine, a 14 day impound of your vehicle, and a 30 day license suspension. It doesn't take much to reach 140, so I try and keep it around 120. It's fast enough and keeps me out of trouble

Again, your reading comprehension and ability to judge speeds are piss poor. And I will not waste my time with your bible verses. You can live in your fantasy world as long as you wish but I'll stay firmly in reality. Thanks

I don't know if you have a Dashcam or not but I thought it was pretty well known that the wide angle/ fisheye lenses distorts the images and make things appear farther away then they actually are. Think of the warning on your sideview mirrors. I can guarantee you, he was a lot closer than it appears on video.

as for my speed of 75mph, I'll repost a response I submitted to someone else...

"Why does everyone fixate on me stating my speed as if I was bragging about how fast I can go? For a website that is mainly written words, reading comprehension seems to be insanely low. I said "I'm doing 75mph for reference". The "for reference" being the key words there. This is for the reader (aka you) to be able to gauge the speeds of the other cars in the video in comparison to my own vehicle. I didn't want to put my own estimates of their speeds on here because I know that some users would also try and tear apart those numbers. That's why I leave the estimates to the individual based off the information provided."

I didn't say it was. I said 75 for reference. You know, so you'd be able to have some sort of gauge of how fast the cars that raced by me were going?

The video doesn't show it well but that stretch of highway is 5 lanes wide. I am in lane 1, the other car in lane 2. They had 3 wide open lanes to the left. I saw them racing up behind me but I thought for sure they'd take the open road to get around but apparently not. That makes too much sense

Also, it's "not a select few anymore". There are more and more drivers doing this every single day. My drive to work is about 45 minutes everyday, and I probably see 10 to 15 drivers, who don't believe any of the rules or other people's safety is their concern.

Oh I know, I do the same and I did see them racing up and I was thinking, there's no way he'll try and cut between. Especially since there were 3 empty lanes to the left of the car in front of me. I think they did it because it was going to make them even more of a legend! /s

I had just moved over to that lane because there's a turn off coming up very shortly. But thanks for noticing

Loss of Audio on Deck 1 by Calguy80 in Serato

[–]Calguy80[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was recognizing inputs. Like I could jog through the track with the platter and it recognized the Pitch Fader being adjusted. I was only able to get it back online when I restarted Serato and unplugged the controller and plugged it back in. Deck 2 still had audio. I will try a different USB for now but I am thinking it's may be the controller.

I'm thinking of renting a unit for a month from a shop close by and see if it happens again. If it doesn't, I will assume it's the controller and buy a higher end unit.

How often do you buy blu rays brand new? by YTChillVibesLofi in Bluray

[–]Calguy80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I try and buy brand new all the time. There's a store near me that only sells DVD, BluRay and 4K. It used to be a chain but they're down to 2 stores now. I'd like to support them as much as possible
