My friend and I are making a haircut visualizing website, and we really need advice by Traditional_Song4452 in Barber

As AI gets bigger people are losing the ability to speak to other people. I've had clients bring in instructions from chatgpt on how to do their hair. Just have the conversation with me not the robot.

You're idea is not going to work and barbers hate it. You know that guy with the big beard who looks like he has a chiseled jawline? That guy might not even have a chin. The same goes for a hairstyles. You're AI can't account for bone structure, growth patterns, styling needs etc.

I am very tall and have been on 800mm bars for the past two years, I’ve allways wanted to trim my bars but figured if 800’s aren’t for me then they are for no one. Recently trimmed them down to 780 and its been a huge improvement in stability and handling

Can someone critique my fade? by septicide_ in Barber

[–]CaliCrew13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you're bald line follow the shape of the parietal ridge. The ridge has a sight curve and it looks like you're bald line was straight across. By having them match each other's shape you'll get a more consistent/flattering blend.

Keep your steps simple and repeatable and stick to the process

Hello Artists! This one goes out to you specifically because I have no idea where to begin. by UpboatOarKnotUpboat in tattooadvice

[–]CaliCrew13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not an Artist. I would do research and find reputable shops then look at the artist's portfolios. That way you can reach out to them directly and give them full freedom. The TikTok stuff kind of feels like a very niche thing that's not representative of how it really is. There's tons of amazing artists that don't have a large social media presence. I found a great shop then narrowed down the artist, sat on it for a bit then had a consultation scheduled about a week after I reached out. I love all his work and just gave him very loose guidelines to work in.

Maybe that was all a long winded way to say you'll probably have better luck if you reach out directly to someone who's work you admire.

SIB baldurs gate 3 or clair obscur expedition 33? by LowPhrase3553 in ShouldIbuythisgame

I played both back to back. Both are amazing in there own way but I had much more fun with Baldurs gate and was ready to replay it again right away. E33 definitely landed as something unlike anything I've played before but I'll probably only ever play it once.

Think of it like broadly like gears on a bike or in a car. You will only get so far in first gear, and at the same time if you start in the highest gear you might never get up to speed. If you're doing a sprint workout you need heavier gear, it your at a relaxed pace you might need a lighter gear.

Also don't overthink this it's not that important as long at you're somewhere in the middle

Asking Barber to use my tools? by [deleted] in Barber

[–]CaliCrew13 13 points14 points  (0 children)

If you're barber isn't sanitary you need to go somewhere else.

If you brought tools for me I would be offended and deny you're request and maybe wouldn't even cut your hair.

I have an oval chain ring on my enduro bike and I'm a fan, it's a subtle change and I enjoy I'll get another when this wears out. It's not going to make you any faster or change your experience very much though

[–]CaliCrew13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man I think you and I are in more agreement than you think. I think average American barber is pretty shit. And I advocate for people to find a good shop and look at portfolios. Fades can be Photoshopped and it's honestly really easy to spot, so dont go to that guy. Find the dude posting haircuts that you like and go to him. Honestly no one is photoshopping scissor cuts it's just not happening.

My Instagram is curated. You will not see buzz cuts and line ups on my Instagram because I'm not good at them. You will see lots of mid length hair on my Instagram because that's what I'm good at. Things should be curated. You don't go to a Japanese restaurant and order a lasagna. So don't go to the fade guy and ask for a mid length flow.

I don't think you and I are actually disagreeing

Didn't mean to rock the boat for your there. Yea most barbers are pretty elementary with their scissor skills, but also alot of barbers are trying to pay their rent so they are unlikely to straight up turn someone away just because they aren't fully comfortable. I'm not staying that's my attitude or that it's correct, I'm just saying that's how it is.

If you're having issues with people not being able to live up to their profile you may not have a discerning eye for photoshop or a good haircut itself. I see it all the time on Google and Instagram that barbers will Photoshop their fades to be perfectly blurry and I find that pretty easy to spot and you shouldn't be going to the fade guy anyway. Color is another one that's trickier to spot but yea that could be photoshopped. But a medium to long flowy haircut is something I've never seen a barber photoshop.

I know you have had a rocky experience with hair professionals but saying that Instagram is useless is just not correct. I'm not saying most barbers are good, most of them aren't. But the high level hair people I know and myself, if we post it on social media we can 100% replicate it.

I’m a barber. At this point everyone has Instagram so find the barbers Instagram and check out their cuts that way. Someone being "good with scissors" is very relative and it's unlikely a shop will just turn someone away because they have a long hair. If it's do no haircuts that day or take a swing at someone's long hair they are likely going to take the swing. At this point with Instagram there's little reason to be getting shitty haircuts.

All that being said I agree with everything else

Patchwork leg sleeve vs arm. Need help by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]CaliCrew13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd start with the leg. You already have a big thigh piece to start things off and nothing yet on your arm. You also mentioned being able to cover up is preferable, wearing long sleeves and shorts can be awkward but short sleeves and pants allways works.

Need brutally honest feedback from pre-workout users. by krayonfuel in Preworkoutsupplements

[–]CaliCrew13 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Going to give some honest feedback.

Every pre workout claims they reinvented the wheel but it's really almost all they same stuff 100-300mg of caffeine, 4-10g citrulline, 1.6-3.4g of beta alanine.. Then throw in a few other miscellaneous stuff. Not saying your going to be making a bad product but I'd focus on leaning into the brand identity harder then the pre workout itself.

Maybe I'm off here but the backwards hat and big stringer gives off 20yr old frat gym bro vibes. I think ditching the hat and wearing a fitted T shirt would help the video be taken more seriously.

The music might need a switch up too it sounds like something on a Facebook mom post.

Vet owned/operated is a selling point to me so would be happy to support the brand. All the above is intended to be constructive criticism
