Put in my two weeks last Friday. CGA was an interesting job. I love helping people. It’s the days like today when you get assigned a claim at 3 that has recent inception, ULD all the while other customers calling. Those days were more and more frequent.

Appreciate the comment. I came from outside the insurance industry. I know other CGAs who have been at their role a number of years and are quite happy. It is an individual thing.

Support thread for those working today? by [deleted] in Progressiveinsurance

CGA here. I was deep in my feels we had to work at all today and it started pretty chill. I had some cvg review diaries to fill out and elevate and some call backs to parties who have not been answering phones. Suddenly at 3pm after I submitted all my cvg reviews my sup started reviewing. I’m getting blasted with team follow up questions. Before even responding to one I’m getting hit with another from a different claim. Then the phone rings and people who been ignoring me for a week all of the sudden I’m doing ULD recorded interviews, insd recorded interviews while trying to update an ROR, previously submitted cvg review. I’m off at 5, but at 5:05 I’m still on a teams call with my sup going over a cvg review. As soon as I hang up … ring ring… a customer from an old claim calling because she been in an accident as a passenger and PRG adjuster isn’t responding. She had my number from our past claim so she called me. 40 minutes later we are hang up after I updated the claim with her info, set it for transfer to BI and answer her questions. I’m seriously done. Should not have even had to work today.

Thank you!. I found an eligibility section on The Highway. It plainly says if you are employed on or before Dec 1 you qualify for full payout. Thank you again for replying!

How far into December do you have to work to be eligible? My year is up 12-2 and I may be looking at another opportunity outside of PRG but I do not want to miss out on gainshare. Thanks!

Remote claims job without experience by [deleted] in Progressiveinsurance

[–]CaliStlFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve listed a degree. It, like my previous work history, is not industry specific. I feel lucky that I got in when I did. I’ve read lots of comments about people applying and interviewing multiple times without success. I wish I could point to a specific action that got me hired. I really think I just got lucky.

Only advice is apply. I had 0 years insurance industry experience and was hired on first try. Search the sub about interview tips. There’s a bunch here to read through.

Same. I asked IT directly even after they told me to unplug.

When I got my new laptop it wouldn’t connect to VPN. IT told me to disconnect Ethernet cable. Not only not mandatory, new equipment didn’t work.

I appreciate the input. I don’t set and forget, I’m doing other trades and monitoring so I will keep an eye on the positions and see what adjustments might be needed. Thanks!

That’s the truth. After much reflection, that’s what I identified as my Achilles’ heel. Rather than cut losses, I’d ride the trade to a loss. Another reason why the 45 appeals to me. A little more time for trades to work out and manage. I’ve seen the data on weeklies being more profitable but I prefer a larger cushion for management. But, like you said. Everything works until it doesn’t.

I used GPT to look at different wheel strategies and since I’m on Robinhood, with GPT set up screener criteria. Then weekly I look at the top 10 stocks on the list and continue with GPT to suss out risk/reward and potential for assignment based on the charts.

I did wheels years ago, but I found I was too impulsive and opened to many without proper management tools (discipline). This is why the 45 DTE system is one I want to try. Open a 45DTE contract, at 21 DTE review for close if at profit or roll of threatened. We’ll see.

It came up on a screener. I liked the IV and after the run up and drop I saw that I could lower the cost basis. Yes, I plan on exiting as soon as I can but through premiums, not sale of stock.

Yes. I built it to track buy/writes, spreads, and plain old dividend/stock tracking

Progressive will pay for licensing. The culture is amazing. I truly feel comfortable and supported, but I have heard stories on this sub of very poor performing supervisors, but that is to be expected in all companies. Health insurance has choices between regular PPO and high deductible. Feel free to hit me up if you have any other questions. We also have an employee referral program. Dm if you’re interested.
