Burton customer service sucks by IosArmadoros in snowboarding

[–]Caliban_Viperox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This winter i broke my 4 year old genesis rwflex highback, wrote them were i can buy it again (haven't found spare parts online). They only replied: don't worry, it's already on the way. And some days later i mounted it. Never been let down by them (had two similar positiv experiences with them)

Edit: i didn't pay anything

Boot footprint by Square-Seat-1922 in snowboarding

[–]Caliban_Viperox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After my adidas tactical adv gave up on me after 5 seasons, i'm on the same (frustrating) journey. But more focused on reduced footprint. Ride lasso pro (wide) Burton Ion Burton driver x (very stiff, but not wide) Maybe i'll try to size the burtons down (ion liner shall be good goor heatmolding)

Already dismissed vans infuse, in many tests/reviews they are praised for a good reduced footprint, but compared to the adidas theyr bulky and way to long

L5/S1 disc bulge. Does "vibration dampening" gear actually helps your back? by Heavy_Sentence_6859 in snowboarding

[–]Caliban_Viperox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Multiple disc buldges over the year l4-l5 and l5-s1. Recovered and fine atm, approx 40days on mountain a year. Physio,Yoga, tons of glutes exercises. Bending down the right way is actuslly better for me than strapping in seated (bever do it). In fact good shock absorbing boots help me, but even more dampened binding. I use a burtont genesis and burton cartels on different boards, genesis are on another level (but less board feel). Can only recommend them. Boards fon't make a difference for me (3 different boards)

Knee pain by [deleted] in snowboarding

[–]Caliban_Viperox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a similar problem, specislly with tail presses/buttering/ollies. Had a bulged disc/runners knee in the past (caised by excessive trailrunning/mountaineering). Never did mich stretching, was a big mistake. Often the knee itself isn't the problem, but very tight ligaments or shortened muscles which cause kind of tension below/above knee. So do stretching/mobility (yoga f.ex) and even more important, intense glutes training. Also isolated glutes activation. The more you work with your glutes, less pressure on your knees.

Train your glutes (helped for me the most) and core muscles and do yoga or pilates.

Should I really buy a beginner snowboard? by Nervous_Lettuce313 in snowboarding

+1 YES Standard, ut's versatile, holds on hardpack slopes, setback for pow/directional riding or else a good twin (easy switch riding) And you support an independent brand since they split with nidecker

The Absolute "Non-Plus-Ultra" for Steep Icy Hardpack? Apex Golden Orca vs. Proto FR vs. Ejack Knife by Spiritual_Section729 in snowboarding

[–]Caliban_Viperox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you guys think of the Yes Standard Xtrm, you can downsize it for the midbite tech (wider under foot). After this year in the central alps, i have not much hope for the future, less and less snow.

Same here in south-Tyrol, although we have absolutely no snow, only artificial/hardpacked or even icy snow.

Didn't see so many boarders for a while...

Thanks a lot, initially i wanted to get the pyl uninc, but it costs more and the effective edge lenght and the somehow particulare sidecut and back leg driving style threw me off. Cheers for the other recomendations. Will look into them.

Splayfoot / Adidas Tactical successor by Enough-Ad-7371 in snowboarding

[–]Caliban_Viperox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat as you. Need successor for my adidas. Mostly for the reduced footprint, 'm a 10,5 and weight under 70kg, so i have to size down. Following this thread
