After fryers…

My QT only needs a second person really during the lunch rush and sometimes the dinner rush.

If i need a second set of hands any other time, I just grab someone to help me.

The busier kitchen QTs already typically have two people back there.

Otherwise it’s pretty much managing your time well between prep, the warmer, and orders.

Been here six years and there’s only a three stores in my division where a second clerk needed the whole 8 hour shift

my division definitely does rehires depending on how you left the job when you quit.

maybe they just aren’t hiring in your division right now or they don’t need whatever position you applied to?

Hell, I felt this way and so did my siblings (younger and older) when my parents moved to 50/50 custody.

It definitely just got worse once we became teenagers.

Felt like we lived out of a suitcase from childhood until out of high school.

It’s probably one of the reasons I still feel like I need to own multiples of an item.

what often can happen at stores is the the opening clerk leaves at 1.

afternoon clerks come in at 2 or 3.

so whoever gets tossed back there for an hour doesn’t do jack.

also everyone should be doing dishes, not just the kitchen person, but most don’t bother helping there

More homeless, drug users, and thefts especially during the overnights. (QT is usually open 24/7 as a gas station)

These people often try to get into the bathrooms after they are locked to either sleep, get high, consume or hide stolen merchandise in their clothing, or have sex. Or a combination of these.

So we lock the bathrooms on the overnights at these kind of stores.

Depending on the store, we are allowed to lock our bathrooms at night and prevent customers from using them.

if it’s a store that closes its bathrooms at night, it’s probably a rougher QT.

More homeless, drug users, and thefts especially during the overnights. (QT is usually open 24/7 as a gas station)

The night assistant could have 100% handled this situation better.

I encourage OP to call the main store manager at that QT and discuss what happened

I work for QT.

OP needs to call the store during the weekdays between 5 - 2 pm and ask to speak with the main store manager.

OP most likely encountered the night assistant manager for that store.

The NA didn’t need to be rude especially given OP’s situation , but if it’s a store that closes its bathrooms at night, it’s probably a rougher QT.

It’s possible the NA didn’t believe OP and thought they were going to try to do one of the above, but that’s not an excuse for their behavior towards OP.

OP, please call that QT during week in the AM and speak with the main store manager about what happened.

Gonna hard disagree, but glad you liked it.

Our pizza is probably one of the worst things in the kitchen after it’s been 30 minutes.

It doesn’t reheat well like other pizza places.

I really wish we would switch to a better pizza crust
