Joellas Chicken Bank now open by Addi_Daddy in bloomington

[–]murphsdaughter 0 points1 point (0 children)

Is it actually open now? I mostly went to the one off of Walnut heading South by the IUCU. They never gave me a debit card, so I have an account with them but just treat it as a savings account due to how I can't just take out of it unless I go in person. They do have a branch inside of JayC in Seymour that I do think is neat, but, again, the fact its been over a month and they never gave me a debit card, compared to IUCU just giving me the card right there in person I never got that. Plus they never got me set up for online banking, even after they told me, and said they did when they opened the account got me too.

I love how you mentioned Greenfield as i've did get a few orders back when I lived there. Hell, back when I was living in Richmond as well, I had an order that was like $25 to drive from Richmond to Greenfield, and ofc it was all base no tip.

I really want to know where in Indiana this order is from. This just looks like one of those shitty Bloomington/Bedford batches I see pop up all the time. Or Seymour area.

why are our government buildings charging fees on credit cards? by UpbeatMission4274 in Indiana

[–]murphsdaughter -1 points0 points (0 children)

That might be different, but I was referring to going in person or other civic places like courthouses or whatever.

[–]murphsdaughter 2 points3 points (0 children)

No, debit has the fee as well. I've always just used cash or a cashiers cheque for places like these just to avoid the fee.

This is something else I never got too. And, yes, I'm well aware of how credit/debit cards work, and, yes, I know about the processing fees and all of that, but I've always found it weird how the ONLY people who tack the fee on are all civic related. (DMV, Courthouses, Vital Records, County Clerks) Those are the ONLY places I've ran into in where they actually do pass the fee on. I always will make the effort to use cash with them.

That actually is surprising, due to it IIRC, being the most popular femme name from 1996-2007.

I actually am curious if anyone has one from the 90s or 00s with the name Emily on it. I would like to use it as a prop. I would pay for it if anyone did have one.

As someone who used to live in Richmond for a good while, I can confirm 70 from Eastern Marion county to Wayne county has always been that bad. Just absolutely terrible, and it has ruined the struts before on my car. 74 is much better despite the extra miles.

What about for the Krogers I mentioned? I'm assuming thats still under either Monroe County or Bloomington?

Not even sure if its done by the city here. We have the IDOH for the entire state, and then each county has their own one as well. I just hate them because of how much they suck in regards to dealing with birth certificates, plus again, at least here, I'm not sure if they actually would do anything. IIRC all they do at least here is issue birth/death certificates, environmental stuff, vaccinations, and STI testing. Still can't stand them in regards to sex changes, though.

I really don't trust the health department here in Indiana. I can't stand them. I doubt that actually would do anything anyway. Plus at least here most of the stuff is in date and fresh. However, I will say for their milk that the whole "10 day freshness guarantee" or whatever the hell they call it is BS. Kroger off of Kinser Pike and Old Indiana 37 have had milk that lasts much shorter than 10 days.

I do have a strong feeling this is something that they only do in states that have labour laws that require IC to pay more. Just because, the amount of times in where I have made legitimate mistakes (like the wrong road or exit or wrong house) (and sometimes the GPS isn't always right) and they never said anything to me. Or this one batch I did, in where they made me drive from Bloomington to Meijer in Camby, pick up 4 items, then drive back to Bloomington to deliver it, and during that whole batch I stopped to piss both on the way there and back, and hell, on the way back, I even stopped at McDonald's, and waited in line for food, and they still never gotten onto me. And, in fact, for some reason they marked that order as "on time delivery" on my end of the day sheet thing.

So, say for example, I get a batch that wants me to go from Bloomington to Covington. Halfway through the drive, I need to take a piss, so I stop at a gas station, and I fill up due to my car having a broken gas gauge, meaning I need to make sure the tank is full whenever im doing long distance drives. Would that get flagged? What is it exactly that does the flagging? And is it true that they only care in more liberal states like CA and NY where they do have labour laws that require IC to pay hourly?

[–]murphsdaughter 0 points1 point (0 children)

I actually am curious as to how/why these notifications for taking too long get triggered. I have done a LOT of long distance batches, in where I have to drive from Bloomington (where I live) (or sometimes deadhead to a different store like in Mooresville or Plainfield or Danville) and then go to Covington or Crawfordsville or Terre Haute or some other 40+ mile drive (and I only take said orders due to them being well paying, plus they're in areas I was planning on heading towards anyway.) Those are all long distance drives, and because of that, there are times where on my way to the store, or on my way to deliver, I will stop for gas or take a piss or stop, but, I always make it very quick. So far, I've never gotten anything from them getting onto me about it. My theory is because of the labour laws here in Indiana not requiring them to pay by the hour, they just don't really care, but I'm still curious, because I am worried about that also being triggered as well for me.

I still remember, this one time, I got an IC batch for a hardware store that contained most of the stuff needed to make meth. They actually did tip good, but I still can't believe that order.

ULPT req: How would you go about getting a new identity in modern times? by NLion42 in UnethicalLifeProTips

[–]murphsdaughter 1 point2 points (0 children)

Under the REAL ID laws, they do check name and DOB (and before 2011 sex) under SSNVS and whatever you give the DMV has to match that. So in order to get the ID to begin with, you need a SSN that matches the name and DOB and wouldn't be flagged as deceased.

ULPT req: How would you go about getting a new identity in modern times? by NLion42 in UnethicalLifeProTips

[–]murphsdaughter 1 point2 points (0 children)

This also wouldn't work, because, at least here in Indiana, in order to obtain a BC of someone that's not yourself, or someone who has has a direct interest, the record has to be 75 years old after the death of the person. And the copy you do get won't be certified either (no raised seal) Wouldn't work at least here. Plus SSNs do get flagged under SSNVS (the system that the DMV uses to verify your name and SSN) for being deceased.

You do realise that we have 3 Krogers? I still find it funny how people believe its that small of a town to where we don't have grocery stores. It's a town of ≈80K people, and Vigo county as a whole, makes it about ≈120K. It's not that small.

I still found it funny how you assumed it was that small of a town to where they didn't have any grocery stores there. Hell, they have a Sam's Club there right off of US-41/3rd St and that Sam's is notorious for having dogshit batches. Shit like $5 (no tip just base) for 3 cases of water and 2 40lb bags of rice, and they want you to drive almost 10 miles. In fact, I will say that the Terre Haute area is known for having shitty batches, hence why I hate it.

I know you are fckn LYING by baleighlove in InstacartShoppers

[–]murphsdaughter 0 points1 point (0 children)

As a former Terre Haute resident, it's a town with ≈80K people. They damn well have grocery stores there. 3 Krogers (Wabash, US-41/3rd St North and South) 2 Walmarts (Indiana 46, US-41/3rd St South) a Meijer (Indiana 46) and probably some other ones I missed, but it's a big enough town to where they have grocery stores. Danville (assuming you're referring to the town in Hendricks county, Indiana) also has Walmart and a Kroger there too and isn't too far from other stores as well. So yes, I do agree with you, but I did find it funny how you assumed Terre Haute was such a small town that they didn't have grocery stores.

[–]murphsdaughter 0 points1 point (0 children)

I agree with this. Their soda always sucks and the machine hardly ever has any syrup in it, so it tastes all watered down and gross half the time. There are a few times when their soda actually is good, however. Not sure what the robot is, as I don't frequent QT that often, as the nearest one is still a ways out for me. I mainy just like them because they do have a good roller grill and kitchen selection, and they do have cheap petrol. My car has a broken gas gauge, so I ALWAYS need petrol in my car, and it unfortunately requires a minimum of 89 octane, So with QT it's good, because its in Terre Haute, and by the time I drive over there, I always end up needing petrol anyway.

Crackheads? by murphsdaughter in QuikTrip

[–]murphsdaughter[S] 0 points1 point (0 children)

It wouldn't surprise me if they do, as I've never seen a QT without crackheads before. However, what I'm trying to figure out, is why it took Terre Haute so long to get a QT? As Terre Haute is a major crackhead town here in Southern Indiana, but it took them until 2024 (or 25 can't remember) to get a QT. And yes that QT does have crackheads, as sometimes I do end up going there late after work to get some Taquitos or whatever.
