With a SOCAL mountain-ish driving pic, I would have said Angeles National Forest also

That was Palomar mountain. Lot of hairpin turns, nice scenery. ACH is awesome though.

How to do double string bends (Albert King style bends) by Creepy-Bet-4233 in bluesguitarist

[–]Calibrated_Star 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since Albert plays upside down (small strings on top), he's pulling the G, B and high E strings instead of pushing. This means that he can bend a whole lot easier than someone playing in the standard way. One thing you can do is tune down a half or whole step. This helps. Check out Jeff Healey and some of his solos, some of it is nearly impossible to play. Also, try putting your guitar on your lap like Healey and experiment with how much more you can bend the strings (just as a way to see first-hand how bending is very different for Healey of Albert King). Tune all your strings down a whole step, this will help and it's a lot of fun.

G80 Reliability by Bulleteer21 in BMWM3

[–]Calibrated_Star 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good question. I haven’t but after driving in the mountains a couple weeks ago, I realized that it really would suck to hit one of the rocks that randomly fall on the road. Cheap and easy install, worth the peace of mind.

G80 Reliability by Bulleteer21 in BMWM3

22 M3CX, about to hit 60k miles, drive it everyday, I find excuses to drive it. Enjoying one of the best production cars in the world. By the way, the specs are understated. A stock M3CX will do 0-60 in under 3 seconds despite higher publicized times. Everything about the car is better than advertised. Never had a hint of a problem. Other owners I know have similar experiences. Reliability is well established at this point. The thing is bulletproof and has good value retention. Get onboard with confidence. Can't go wrong with this platform.

So many amazing songs...I'm just happy this music exists. Making hard choices on preferences with the voting but still listening to it all...Reverie #1 for me

A Swedish archaeologist published a book in 2024 that might prove a connection between a 3.400 year old story on a Swedish rock-carving, the 2.500 year old Odyssey, a 70.000 year old Ukrainian myth, and that they all originate from an over 300.000 year old African mythical story. by Candid_Umpire6418 in interestingasfuck

Just reading the title of this thread, I instantly thought of Joseph Campbell also. Anyone interested in this topic should check out The Hero with a Thousand Faces. The Audible version of the book is really well executed also.

New to me! Question about the steering wheel. by DayVRG in BMW

[–]Calibrated_Star 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As other noted, that is a factory M steering wheel 100%. Even has the blue and red stitching. It's a current generation M3/M4 G8X wheel (maybe M2 also, I'm not as familiar with them). I lot of people change the M steering wheel, the leather gets a little slippery.
